Season Premier of the 32^nd Season

1623 Studios and Gloucester resident John J. Ronan have announced the 32nd season of the television series, The Writer’s Block with John J. Ronan.  The award-winning production is one of the oldest, continuously-running public access shows in New England and has been recognized with a First Prize for an Educational Program at the New England Cable Television Association.

This season opens with Rockport poets Suellen Wedmore, Ruth Maassen, and Bob Whelan, who have created – with six other poets – an exciting new book: Rising Tide: An Anthology of Cape Ann Poets. The program airs Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 8:00 p.m., channel 12, and will be repeated a week later.  The year’s lineup of authors will end on episode #400!  That program will be an artistic preview of Gloucester’s own 400^th anniversary. 

John Ronan, producer and host of The Writer’s Block, is a former Gloucester Poet Laureate and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in poetry.  His most recent book, Taking the Train of Singularity South from Midtown, appeared in 2017.  (theRonan.org)

My name is Steve Quinn, and I am a member of Cape Ann Bible Church 8 Thompson St. In West Gloucester. This Saturday from 8 am till 1Pm we Will be having our annual Fling.

This is an out reach to our community, clothing , house wares, toys, electronics and some furniture. Everything is free for the taking to support those in need through out our community.

Costanzo led the way with 32 points. Huge performances out of O’Leary (26), White (29) and Johnson (25).

I hadn’t been down to the salt marsh at the Jones River landing recently so I took a ride on a pretty day. It’s very peaceful and pretty there. Lots of bird activity which reminds me that I had posted some cormorants a while ago and called the ducks. Peter of Rockport wrote to let me know cormorants are their own species and are not ducks. I appreciate knowing this, especially since we are not birders as you all now know! I could not resist taking the “JimBoat” picture for our GMG Jim.
