THANKS TO YOU
2021 WAS A PIVOTAL YEAR FOR…

| TO MAKE 2022 EVEN BETTER WE NEED YOUR HELP |
Under the most challenging circumstances, Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute had a remarkable year. With all the uncertainty of the pandemic, GMGI delivered on our promises to provide transformative workforce training and conduct ground-breaking research, both of which are helping to catalyze our regional economy.ย

Gloucester Biotechnology Academy graduated the Class of 2021, maintaining the stellar job placement outcomes of this flagship program. We recently enrolled our sixth class, the first to train in the brand new biomanufacturing learning laboratory.ย A donation to GMGI allows us to continue to redirect lives of the career-compromised though hands-on learning, mentorship and professional development.ย For young adults struggling to connect with college and career, the Academy is an on-ramp to the thriving life sciences industry.ย

At our marine genomics institute, GMGIโs team of scientists โcrackedโ the lobster genome, forged exciting new collaborations, and pushed the boundaries of discovery. From new insights into the health of the Annisquam River to groundbreaking research aboard the OceanXplorer, our scientists tackled some of the most vexing marine biology challenges.ย ย A donation to GMGI enables a groundbreaking genomics research agenda into fishery, ocean, and human health.

The word is spreading that there is a life science workforce pipeline in Gloucester and that important marine science is being conducted on the cityโs waterfront. This is attracting the interest of other biotech firms who are exploring alternatives to the conventional Kendall Square and Seaport locations. In recognition of all we are accomplishing, GMGI has been named a 2021 finalist for a Massachusetts Economic Impact Award.ย
| Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute is an ambitious organization. And yet we are just getting started. If you are considering a first-time donation to GMGI, we hope that our consistent advances and demonstrated accountability give you the confidence to invest generously in our future. For our current donors, thank you for continuing your generous support. We are profoundly grateful for the steadfast support of our donors, and we remain committed to exceeding expectations. In appreciation, |
