Well, it’s 8 a.m. and I should be still asleep. Too bad my internal clock doesn’t know that I got in 6 hours ago! What a night! My first Dead concert! The DCU Center in Worcester was like a time machine set to the 70’s. We were a stone’s throw from the stage. People of all ages- baby boomers, little kids and everything in between. A sea of tie dyed shirts. Huge balloons bounced over the heads of the crowd. A constantly changing halo of lights above us. And the MUSIC! I’ve always loved Grateful Dead stuff, but I never had the opportunity to see them live. What an experience. No one sat for more than a minute during the 3 1/2 concert (45 minute break) dancing to familiar songs . The drum solos, the guitars, the whole night was magic! A big Thank You to my friend, Skip, for the invite! —Sharon

New Cell Phone, Camera and Car Excitement
I don’t know about you, but when I get a new cell phone or car or camera I’m incredibly excited to use it and figure out all the features on said item.
My cell phone has been broken for 3 weeks now and it barely functions and shuts itself off without warning, basically it’s been a huge PITA. Yesterday I bid and won a new cell phone to replace the broken one that I’ve been using on eBay. It’s nothing fancy but a slight upgrade from the bulky nextel phone I’ve been using for the past couple of years.
The thing about getting a new toy or gadget or car that strikes me funny is how excited people get (myself included) and how we want to share this information with everyone around us. Like when you get a new car and you drive it around to show your friends and relatives as if they really give a shit about it.
No one cares except the person who gets the new item. People might pretend to care to try to be nice, but they really don’t. I have to remind myself of that little fact when I reiterate the story for the 20th time to the Mrs about the bidding process on eBay that won me the cell phone or showing her any new features it might have.
Here’s my pretty basic new cell phone that I shouldn’t be posting because no one really cares, (I can’t resist)

It Doesn’t Suck- East Gloucester Value
This East Gloucester House is for sale at a very reasonable $499,000. I haven’t been inside it or have anything financial to gain by it’s sale. I do however think it is in an incredible location close to Good Harbor Beach, steps to the Golf course, and in the heart of God’s Country- East Gloucester at 47 Beach Road. Ron Goulart and Jen Anderson have the listing. You can check it out at the website- www.JenandRon.com
I love the wraparound porch and classic lines of this house.

Why Don’t Planes Have Cupholders?
Seriously, how hard can it be to put some goddamn cupholders on planes?
They make you buckle in for safety they make you stow your luggage completely under the seat in front of you.
Am I the only person in America that thinks that cup holders are a good idea to have as a convenience on planes. You get a cup of coffee from the flight attendant and then have to juggle the thing around til its not too hot so you can enjoy it. I swear they put grease on those tiny little trays and everything is sliding around on there. I’m a nervous wreck until whatever beverage in front of me is fully consumed, and is that really any way to enjoy coffee? Chugging it down quickly? Hell no!
Try traveling with a two year old and soon to be four year old and al the gear that comes with trying to entertain them for a three hour flight and tell me you can enjoy any type of liquid refreshment in front of you on that teeny, tiny slippery tray. Forget it!
The Mrs was the unfortunate victim of a lap/seat full of apple juice when Madeline inevitably spilled it off the tray in front of them.
With no change of clothes on the plane The Mrs had to sit in that sticy liquid for two hours til landing in Boston. All that could be avoided I thought with the simple addition of cupholders.
I’m sayin it right now to any airline out there- I’ll gladly pay $5 more per ticket for a cupholder. Get it done. It just makes sense.
