Gloucester Daily Times : City gets no bidders for I-4, C-2 site
http://m.gloucestertimes.com/GDT/pm_105601/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=e7O6O70e
They didn’t get any bids for development here, yet the "Citizens for Gloucester Harbor" group says that there are a ton of marine industrial uses on the waterfront.
Well then, why aren’t they all scurrying to put bids in on I4-C2 and get rich with all their ideas?
Old Rocky Neck School Class circa 1914 ??? From Bill Hubbard
Hi, Joey,
Here’s another puzzle maybe some of your readers may have the answer to. The attachment is a picture of the class from the old one room schoolhouse on Rocky Neck.
My uncle, Eber Dahlmer has been identified as the boy farthest left in the back row with the big smile on his face. Next to him has been identified as the late Harry A. Wheeler, a lifelong Rockynecker. Capt. John A. Dahlmer’s family settled on Rocky Neck on arrival from Michigan in 1914. Eber would have been ten years old then, Ronald 11 and Margaret 9. I would guess the picture was taken about that time.
I wonder if anyone can ID any of the others.

Another Public Service Announcement
I would appreciate if you would post this information for Cape Ann cable
subscribers:
Comcast is currently making some technical changes that may affect local programming. Cable subscribers who have high definition televisions will continue to be able to view Cape Ann TV Channels 12, 20 and 67; however,
those cable subscribers who do not have high definition televisions need to install a digital television adapter (DTA). Subscribers can call Comcast at
1-877-634-4434 and request to either have a DTA delivered to them or they can pick up the device at a Comcast office: 12 Tozer Road in Beverly or 8A
Traders Way in Salem. To continue to view Cape Ann TV Channels 12, 20 and 67, they must connect the DTA to their cable box. Call Comcast at:
1-800-266-2278 or 1-877-634-4434.
Thank you!

Public Service Announcement
I was just talking to David Calvo about a hit and run that totaled my car, another car and damaged a third. He thought you might be able to post a notice on Good Morning Gloucester. The hit and run happened at 2:00 to 3:00 am Sunday morning on East Main Street in front of David’s Studio.
There must have been extensive damage to the riders side of probably a truck or an SUV. There would be a reward for information – my phone number is 978-281-3020 and address is 245 East Main St., just up the street from David’s.
Anyone who saw something or noticed a damaged vehicle could really help me out.

Did You Know? (Addison Gilbert Hospital)
That Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals have been named among Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals in the U.S.? The Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals® study is annual, quantitative research that identifies the hospitals with the best facility-wide performance. At the heart of this research is the 100 Top Hospitals National Balanced Scorecard, a set of measures that evaluate performance excellence in clinical care, patient perception of care, operational efficiency, and financial stability.

I had my first experience with Addison Gilbert Hospital on Monday. After many years of not having health insurance, thanks to Kim Smith who told me about the Gloucester Family Health Center, and Marissa Alves, who helped me through the Commonwealth’s paperwork process, I now have coverage. I had an appointment with my new PCP, Candace Thompson, who is a wonderful doctor – very sweet, friendly, attentive, took the time to listen, ask questions, make recommendations and made me feel totally at ease and cared for, as did Erica, her nurse. The women in the lab were efficient, friendly, and I never felt the “pinch”. Radiology and Registration were the same, and there were no long waits anywhere. Even the fellow patients I met and spoke with were at ease and friendly. We on Cape Ann are so lucky to have Addison Gilbert, and I hope that the new affiliation with Leahy will only make it stronger, and that all existing staff will be retained for as long as they choose to stay.

The Rabbit’s Man-Boobs Poolside
So You’re Tom Brady…
You spend 24/7/365 saying All The Right Things to the media. Every single day when they try to bait you into saying some disparaging remarks about opposing teams or percieved malcontents on your own team you ALWAYS without fail brush aside comments and diffuse any possible media shitstorm.
And then moments after a devastating loss in the Superbowl with the entire world watching your Victoria Secret All Star Supermodel drops a bomb saying something to effect that her husband "can’t throw AND catch the balls"-effectively throwing his receivers under the bus and undoing all the goodwill the guy has built up with his classy image year after year.
When the shit hits the fan and the Boston Sports Media does its usual hysteria laden rants against you, do you give her a pass because she’s a smokeshow Supermodel or do you flip out?

More Edward Hopper All Around Gloucester
Catherine Ryan writes:
Thanks to GMG, here’s a nice note and a family photo sent in to Joey in response to the pictures of EDWARD HOPPER ALL AROUND GLOUCESTER.
Hi Joe – we corresponded awhile back about Cigar Joe and my grandparents who lived on Gould Ct.
I mentioned that my great grand parents – Joe Ciaramitaro – not your Joe J – had lived in the Haskell House way back…. I saw the Hopper painting of the Haskell House in your feed … to complete the circle – here’s a wedding picture from my great aunt Catherine, taken on the stairs at the Haskell House in 1945.
And since you know Gould Ct., there’s a great Hopper painting of the Unitarian church that looks like it might have been painted from somewhere on Gould Ct.
Enjoy. Steve Auditore
I revisited Gould Ct; five others mentioned that vantage point, too. Please share more stories or locations (more than 90 and not all known!) about Edward Hopper all around Gloucester.

Superbowl at the Patio Restaurant in Magnolia
Three+ Generations Watch the Super Bowl at the Patio Restaurant in Magnolia
Friends and families gathered at the Patio Restaurant in Magnolia watch the Super Bowl on Sunday. Vital stats: the youngest Pats fan was 3 months old; 100+ Cajun chicken wings were consumed, and 27 people yelled out, “Why can’t anyone catch the ‘darn’ ball?”
The smiling lovely cheerleaders, from left to right, Caroline O’Leary, 11; Kate Del Torchio, 12; and Callie O’Leary, 13…
Auntie Linda tries to shield baby niece Julianna Rae from the disastrous last minutes of the game but Julianna sneaks a peek…
But, no matter what the outcome, Roger and Theresa Lee were all smiles…
