Life Goes On — pat morss

Here’s an assortment of wildlife doing its thing.

There are lots of Cedar Waxwings this year.
And no shortage of Bunnies.
Our House Finch couple has eggs in its 2nd nest in the hanging Geranium.
The Turkey poults (chicks) by the driveway are cute at this young age.
But we still freak out Mom.
Deer are playing tag in the Audubon Sanctuary.
A Snowy Egret looks for fish in the Audubon marsh grass.
Canada Geese are rearing their young, across the road inside the breakwater.
Starlings discuss whether living on the ocean is all it’s cracked up to be.
There’s always one inquisitive duckling at Mallard nap time.
A Black-crowned Night Heron launches across Niles Pond with landing gear up.
Overhead the smaller birds (here, a Crow) are harassing the larger (Red-tailed Hawk).

Common eiders with downy ducklings…

molting, preening, feeding, rafting and resting in coves off Gloucester and Rockport.

Common eiders cluster in the coves during breeding season. They can’t fly when they’re molting and raft off loudly and orderly when disturbed by small boats, people on shore, and gulls. When adults scaled the rocks, the elements were handy. Waves tossed the ducklings atop a veritable shag carpet of seaweed which looks especially thick this season.

Breeding season for barn swallows and tree swallows, too–incubating now. Tree swallow photo bomb in one of the video snippets below. (Adult swallows take breaks from incubating to eat. Common eider females incubate solo and do not eat until after hatching.)

North Shore Sheds and Shacks

Many of you already know how much I enjoy looking at barns, especially those with character and stories waiting to be told. I’ve also been noticing various shacks and sheds along the North Shore that seem similarly full of character and untold tales. Here’s an entry that seems postcard worthy from Ispwich. This was a very pretty day but even if it wasn’t, I think this is worthy of a share.

House of Dreams

Building your dream home is a journey that often defies instant gratification. It’s a path filled with twists and turns, where doubts may arise, and the destination may seem elusive. However, on the serene shores of Rockport, one dream came to life in a way that surpassed all expectations.

There’s a bunch of psychopath Karens Flipping Out Because Of The Plover Stuff. I wasn’t gonna re-release it but they’ve pushed my hand. New Rubberized Logo Caps Are 🔥🔥🔥

Volume on for dramatic effect😁

They’re going sideways and I actually feel bad that they have to live in such an angry state all the time and think that people aren’t smart enough to know the plover stuff is satire.

There’s also a bunch that hate the fact that I sell anything. Maybe they think I force people to buy stuff.

The fact is that I really enjoy the creative process. I enjoy making clothing that I myself would like to wear and if anyone has a problem with me selling stuff I’d like to wear or that I think my people would like to wear, I’m sorry I’m not going to stop because you hate capitalism.

You don’t have to buy anything that I post here but if you like the stuff that I create because I think it’s good quality products selling for reasonable prices I appreciate your support.

We’re not commies here. I celebrate any of my friends that produce cool stuff and don’t begrudge them from making money from things that other people want to buy.

I created these awesome new 2 dimensional rubberized logo caps. IMO they stand apart in how crisp the logo details are and how vibrant the colors are. I’ll have them for sale tomorrow while they last. Unapologetically.

Also it’s Father’s Day coming up. Please support my friends that sell Merch like Pat Dalpiaz, Donna Ardizzoni, Enza Iacono at Lobster Trap Gifts, Pauline’s Gifts, One Ocean One Love Shop, Joe Higgins Fish Prints, Regina at Again and Again Sailbags, and alll the artists around town selling their wares.

The caps shown in the video will be for sale tomorrow evening. I also have about 15 SPF fishing shirts left for sale

Here’s the link to purchase-

10% of the Plover caps will once again go to the Gloucester Boxing Club who do a tremendous job with the entire community.
