A Little Bit of The Beauport Hotel’s Holiday Magic

We enjoyed a beautiful evening by one of the fireplaces at the Beauport Hotel last night. Here is just a small sampling of their holiday magic.

Minglewood For The Win

We go to Minglewood Harborside on Rogers St regularly in order to enjoy the hospitality and the good food. The comfortable setting and the weekday specials are a particular draw for us, but the top incentive is the welcoming atmosphere. We stopped recently and ordered pork dumplings, a smashburger and the salmon BLT. As usual, right on point–delicious and perfectly done. As a bonus, we had $10 reward on our Serenitee card PLUS earned points which we cashed in! It’s a win-win from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and sign up for the Serenitee Rewards ASAP. Shout out to Ryan behind the bar; Heather and Zach! See you again soon. (And live music…did I mention that?)

Settling into Winter — pat morss

Falling temperatures are ushering us into the winter holiday season.

An unusual scene in a neighbor’s driveway.
They earned an ‘Honorable Mention’ in the Christmas tree lighting parade.
On our walks we can tell when another neighbor is out, but didn’t take Oscar.
Common Eiders enjoy riding the waves like a roller coaster.
Up and over the crest, and down the other side in their amusement park.
Last bird standing, before disappearing.
Plenty of winter shore birds at Niles Pond. Buffleheads just getting airborne.
The water lillies are a graveyard.
A few short months ago they were an impediment to navigation.
First ice on the pond has the ducks and gulls congregating around openings.
Morning forecast: “There are snow flurries on the Cape.” That’s the one named after a fish.
We’re doing just fine on our Cape, thank you.
