Community Band on Sunday, August 16, at 6:30pm, at the Antonio Gentile
Bandstand, Stage Fort Park, 24 Hough Avenue, Gloucester. The rain date
is Wednesday, August 19, at 6:30pm. The concert is the seventh in this
thirty ninth anniversary concert season and is sponsored by the
Gloucester Cultural Council and Bank Gloucester.
The Cape Ann Community Band will present their Viet Nam 50th Anniversary
Tribute; a musical salute to our Cape Ann Viet Nam veterans. The concert
will feature patriotic music, military themes and popular tunes from
the 1960’s and 70’s. A special commemorative piece entitled “Mekong”
will center the program. The concert is sponsored by Bank Gloucester and
the Gloucester Cultural Council.
The concert is free, parking is free and the rest rooms are ADA
accessible. It’s lawn seating so bring chairs or blankets. For more

It goes without saying how much I love summer in Gloucester….and I am lucky, in the company of my amazing boys or great friends to seize every opportunity to enjoy all that Cape Ann has to offer, but…..when someone asks if I want to go to Martha’s Vineyard, the answer is still always going to be “yes.” There are so many great things to do, but certainly relaxing after a busy day on the porch at the Harbor View Hotel is always a treat.

Thank you in advance for helping me hire a boat so I may photoshoot the 2025 Labor Day Schooner Race, which I have done for more than 20 years, sometimes for the Chamber, and other times on my own.
My hope is to be at the starting line as the race begins and stay out for around 3 hours, perhaps up till the finish line is crossed.

This week’s live music schedule at the Rhumb Line
I was able to get down to the Maritime dock along the Harbor Loop at a good time to capture an egret seeking a meal. These birds are so elegant and yet fiercesome hunters. A close look at the feet remind you they descend from dinosaurs.
