Hubba, Hubba,  girls, and those of the female persuasion: he’s back!  He’s escaped the event horizon, eaten ten hits of oxymoron, strapped on his titanium codpiece, and he’s comin’ after you! I’m talking ’bout that pulse racing, rubber-hose wielding divo of rhythm and bliss, Mr. Evan Goodreau. Last seen in these parts a while ago, it’s taken months to wipe the smile offa evrybody’s face. Now, put it back on, cuz he’s comin’ to town and he wants YOU, the viewer to  split your lip in  heavenly ecstacizm and zizz to the loopy beet. Ask your doctor if HonkyJive® is right for you.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gym Gwin, Fred’s brother, will be playin’ the eggbeaters and stirrin’ soup behind him, tryin’ to figger out a way to take K. L. out, or at least expose him as a swish. We know it’s true. THIS IS A DANGEROUS BAND.
Of course Greg T. with his hat, and myself , on base, will attempt the impossible. Do czech it out.
Many busy executives ask me how I can go on and do this “creative” writing every week. I can’t really eggsplain it, but here’ what to do: Make yourself an Ice-cold martini (or three), sit down, and let ‘er rip! Usually works for most authors, so, give it a try. Nothin’ like black and white! Stay tuned!

Our unsub this week is the one and only Steve Sadler, string genius, gargler, and poster boy for Men’s Health Magazine.  The Star of the East has risen and muhgals from many distant lands ( like Peabody) will be bringing in their caravans and refrigerator boxes in celebration of the blessed event. Steve has just finished up  a brand new CD of his own tunes, in which he’s taught a thing or two to Brian Wilson. Smooth and creamy vocals, like a frappe. Groovey tunes with real chord changes, too. Get yerself a copy. Great cruisin’ music!
Stirring the pot will be Mr. Jeff Casper, the friendly drummer, who’s been on hiatus ever since he had to bite off his own leg , to escape that bear trap. Ankles Aweigh, Jeff! Of course, Greg T. will be there as well as myselph, on base. Now, if I could only shake that cold….

I hope you all had a great Christmas!  I also want to let you all know about New Years Eve at the Topside. We will have a great dinner menu featuring Baked stuffed lobster, filet mignon, Duck Ala Orange, Fresh Atlantic Salmon, and Pork Scallopini Ala Oscar (with asparagus and lobster meat). New Year’s Eve @ The Franklin Cafe

A little soul food pairs well with rockin’ blues, to bring in 2011No matter whether you are seeking to dine, dance or a little of both, Dog Bar at 65 Main St. in Gloucester will usher in the New Year with an exciting combination of great southern inspired food, drinks, and music. The dinner special will be any 2 items off the regular menu or specials list, plus a bottle of wine for $48. Reservations are required for dinner in the dining room and will be accepted for seatings between 6:30 and 8:30 pm. Music follows and will be provided by Mike O’Connell and The Backstabbers. O’Connell uses his warm, soulful voice and tight band to travel through an assortment of songs that range from traditional blues to southern rock, to the psychedelic. Expect to hear originals off his upcoming album. The cover charge of $8 also includes complimentary pass-around appetizers and a champagne toast at midnight.

Three dynamic musicians under one roof. You can not go wrong with that. I have had the opportunity to hear Bradley, Jake and Pete, each one alone and with a band. I was also able to catch the last set when they were all playing together, not to long ago at the Dog Bar. It was unique because they all have different styles among them but share that familiar passion. Sometimes you just want to sit back and have the pleasure of just listening to their creativity with all of the songs that they so eagerly share. Then again, you may want to jump right up and dance around the place.  You will see that at just about any show.
