Rockport Flaming Inferno
Hi Joey,
Another year, another inferno. I repeat myself, but this event is an under publicized gem that never fails to impress. I brought more friends this year from
faraway, over-the-bridge towns, and they returned home with with stories to tell their families. “The top of the pile was sixty feet tall.” “The fire singed the lens of the Hubble Telescope.” True, of course, and I believe I saw Vulcan with his hammer, but I believe the real story lies in the community that has created this supremely playful night.

Captain Tom Ellis took the Thomas E. Lannon out on a glorious sail beyond the breakwater, Celtic singer Michael O’Leary and Friends played music to the delight of everyone on board, many happy faces enjoying the sunset and a welcoming flock of sea gulls as they escorted the Schooner Lannon back home.

Hi Joey,
Thought you might get a kick out of this photo of my son Declan Sartwell (left) and nephew Benjamin Frithsen (right) the great great grandsons of Cigar Joe Frontiero enjoying Fiesta Sunday with their mothers Kerri Sartwell (Joe’s great granddaughter) and Marni Frithsen across from the Mother of Grace Club.

St Peter’s Fiesta is also celebrated in the small fishing village where I was born Lajes do Pico Azores.
The tradition is a bit different; women carry baskets of sweet bread “rosquilhas”, the bread is blessed and than distributed to the people, they celebrate mass in the small chapel (San Pedo’s). The village, guests and family sit down and share a meal. The events may be different, but the bringing together of community and family is the same. Viva St Pietro / Pedro / Peter.Viva
