The unit is well made, sturdy and easy to install. The backyard birds are posing nicely and we are having a grand time with it. For a bird feeder, it’s a little pricey but for a gift for a special someone…..worth it!

Sharing news from the Lobster Roller Facebook page that today (Friday Nov 11) is their last day of the season. Check them out along the boulevard today starting at 11:30 am.

The recently relocated and redesigned Vietnam Memorial now has military flags flying to honor our local Vietnam veterans and those who lost their lives in the conflict. A ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 today at the new Stage Fort Park location near the tennis courts. The Veterans’ Day ceremony at the high school is scheduled for 9 AM and this event will follow at 11:30 am. It’s absolutely beautiful and thoughtfully designed for contemplation and remembrance and I hope you can stop by today or sometime soon to take a look. Stop, Reflect, Honor.

I had heard Weathervane was putting up a new store sign so I went to check it out and continued up the street for a bit just to see what I could see. It was a quiet morning and some of the establishments weren’t yet open for business. I prefer the hustle and bustle but it’s good to savor the quiet as well. This is for those of you who are missing Glosta!

Sharing information regarding the new site for the Vietnam Memorial. Thank you Ruth for sharing!

I am not overly crafty but I do enjoy the occasional “sip and create” sort of event. Recently I attended one such event sponsored by the Gloucester Elks and run by Create and Escape DIY out of Peabody. These amazing sisters were very patient with my decidedly inexperienced attempts to create some scented candles. Create and Escape hosts a number of such events with various crafts. It’s worth a try on one of these early dark fall/winter evenings! So, thanks Elks as well as Create and Escape DIY but I will be withdrawing my Yankee Candle job application now.
Some before and after photos to show progress. Finished products Not For Sale (hahaha)

As you may have seen here on Good Morning Gloucester and elsewhere, the annual holiday parade will be returning Sunday Nov 27 2022 at 3 PM; a tradition which ends with the Kent Circle Tree Lighting. Details on the parade here. We are sharing some information from the Town of Shelburne and Kent Circle Tree Lighting Facebook pages regarding this year’s efforts and some details behind this heartwarming tradition. We’ll be there, will you?

It was a perfect fall day recently when we went to Good Harbor Beach near high tide; deep breaths of salt air, face to the sun, feet in the sand kind of day that replenishes the soul. We are blessed.

Such a pretty little spot! Buswell Pond along Western Ave in Gloucester.

Sharing information from the Gloucester Beaches Facebook page regarding beach parking lots this weekend Nov 5/6 2022:

We did a little exploring of Flat Ledge Quarry in Rockport recently. Again, we took note of low water levels. But when the water is low, it opens you up to some new discoveries! At least it was new to us to see what appear to be the remains of some track / pulley method of hauling things up and out. Fascinating old metal hooks and pulleys along with old wooden rails. Interesting and disturbing at the same time!

On a gorgeous sunny day recently, Joey wondered why I was wearing my boots. I told him I never know where I will end up. Shortly following that conversation, I took this video ……. and got my socks totally drenched even with the boots! All to bring you some Friday zen. You’re welcome.
Our friends at Minglewood Harborside on Rogers St recently introduced their fall menu so I decided to go there to “cash in” my Serenitee birthday rewards (FREE entree and FREE dessert). I also wanted to redeem some of the reward points I have earned over the last several months. Win Win.
The new menu items are very appealing to Jim and I. I ordered the Orange Chicken and Jim got Lo Mein. I loved the chicken though I will let you know it’s on the spicy side. (Only one tissue meal for my runny nose.) I had Jeanne’s sangria (perfecto) to accompany the meal. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae which we gobbled up faster than my camera could capture, darn it because it was a beauty.
When you sign up for Serenitee Rewards, you are gifted a free entree and dessert at any Serenitee restaurant. You have a few weeks near your birthday to cash them in so it’s really a no-brainer to sign up. Plus you earn points each time you go to a Serenitee establishment and you can apply those at any future meal. I like to build my points up and then cash it in to celebrate. I suggest you sign up ASAP!

Sometimes it pays to take the MACRO view. You never know what surprises you might find. Once in a while, you might have to build your own shelter from the storm.

I came across this lovely remembrance draped in autumn leaves at the Seine Field.

Happy Halloween with a very pretty Barn Along the Byway in Rowley. Can’t really get enough of the fall leaves adorning the barn scenes.

We spent a few days shrouded in fog recently and it was a welcome sight to spot these egrets riverside along Essex Ave like bright beacons calling me over. I presume they are migrating and taking a bit of a rest along the way. There were about 8 of them and they looked so regal and relaxed that I just had to stop to take some photos. For additional photos and story details, please check out Pat D’s Photos and Adventures on Facebook. It’s also where you can keep up with new products and where we will be in the upcoming weeks.

Special birthday wishes to Joey from the gang! Wish him a happy birthday when you see him.

The fog crept in and settled in the granite crevices and shrouded the fall leaves this week.
