On Tuesday when walking on Shore Road as the sun was going down, no color in the sky.  The sunset club at Magnolia Pier keeps hoping for some color.  Maybe over the weekend.

This April, the Hammond Castle Museum will present “Gertude Cawein at Hammond Castle Museum,” a new exhibit of nearly 60 works or art by Eric Pape, the distinguished artist and former Annisquam resident.
This exhibit offers a unique insight into the multifaceted talents of Pape. Renowned as a painter, designer of the iconic “Tablet Rock Memorial” in Stage Fort Park, and a society portraitist, Pape’s brilliance shines through various mediums, including pencil, pen, watercolors, and oils. At the heart of this celebration is the full-length portrait of Gertrude Cawein, painted by Pape and loaned from the Filson Historical Society in Louisville, Kentucky. For the first time outside the Filson, visitors can witness this rare example of Pape’s work as a society portraitist. The majority of the works will be on loan from the private collection of esteemed Pape collector and biographer, Dr. Gregory Conn.
The exhibit will run from Friday, April 5th through April 28th from 10:00am-4:00pm. There will be an opening reception in the evening on Saturday, April 6th, so mark your calendar!

Lunch at Grillfriends

On Sunday before the big games, Rick and I went to Grillfriends for lunch.  Lucky to have a great restaurant that we can have a great lunch.

Rick had the Mindy chicken sandwich and I had hot and cold veggie rollup.  So good and also served with Fresh Friend chips.

St. Joseph’s Pasta Day

What fun we had on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Pasta Day.  Thank you, Bridgette, for hosting and Felicia for continuing this wonderful tradition.  We made about 130 pounds of St. Joseph’s pasta from scratch.  There were about 25 women of the Novena Girls making this pasta.  We are a well-oiled machine and just keep working until all the pasta is done.    The lunch provided was amazing, my favorite is the pasta e fagioli that Felicia makes.  The antipasto sandwiches, desserts and beverages were all terrific.  Personally, I had a great time.  There also was the Novena Girls youngest member at 3 months old.  Another benefit from being part of the wonderful group of women is getting all my steps in yesterday. Did over 15, 000 steps making the pasta.  Thank you, Felicia, for including me as part of this fun tradition.

We are excited to share that Wellspring and the Freeman Family story will be featured on Chronicle on WCVB Channel 5‘s “Hidden History” show this coming Thursday, January 25 at 7:30 pm.
There will be two segments, one focusing on the Freeman family and the other about Wellspring’s role in researching and telling the story with community support. We are thrilled to be able to continue to share these important stories to an even wider audience!
