Seals on Brace Cove

I counted at least 20 seals on the rocks out at Brace Cove on Christmas Eve.  They were far out, and it was a little cloudy, but they were wishing us all a Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas.

Beautiful sea smoke from Shore Road

Reblogged from  Wikipedia:

Sea smokefrost smoke,[1] or steam fog[2] is fog which is formed when very cold air moves over warmer water. Arctic sea smoke[3] is sea smoke forming over small patches of open water in sea ice.[4]

It forms when a light wind of very cold air mixes with a shallow layer of saturated warm air immediately above the warmer water. The warmer air is cooled beyond the dew point and can no longer hold as much water vapor, so the excess condenses out. The effect is similar to the “steam” produced over a hot bath or a hot drink, or even an exercising person

Beautiful reflections

As Mr. & Mrs. Claus arrived at Maritime Gloucester for the Lighting of the Lobster Trap Tree, the reflection in the harbor were so pretty.

The Cape Ann Makers Market at The Cut

Thank you, Cape Ann markers Market, for another successful holiday season.  CAMM events are co-produced by Cape Ann Sea Salt Company Hold Fast Company and Eleven Eleven Elixir. Owners Anna Baglaneas Eves (Cape Ann Sea Salt Co.), Deanna Fay (Hold Fast Co.), and Angelia Corrado (Eleven Eleven Elixir) saw a real need for vendor opportunities for themselves and the many talented makers on Cape Ann, so they decided to tackle the problem head on. These three women are amazing and work very hard to organize these great Holiday Shows.  The venues are fun and inviting.  It was very busy so not many photos.

The Cut a great venue.  Thank you for all who came to shop local.  We live in an amazing community and lucky to live here.

Sunset on Magnolia Pier

This week has been rainy and windy.  On Thursday, the Sunset Group, was able to get some great shots of the sun setting.  Even though it was and cold and windy, watching the sunset and socializing with these great people, make it worth being a little cold.
