How have you been practicing social distancing?

People that know me know that I’m not a fan of yard work.

With the beautiful weather it’s been kinda nice getting outside and cleaning up the yard and getting some sun.

Kate and I have been burning brush (get your burning permit and check in with the Fire Department in the morning to make sure it’s a burning day.

I have an extra burn barrel for sale $10 if anyone needs one.

Next up?  Maybe tackle straightening out the shed, switching over the closets from winter to spring/summer.

BBQ.  Lots and lots of BBQ.

Local, State and Federal Governments Recommend ‘Social Distancing’ to decrease the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Massachusetts currently has the 4th highest # of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States. As of March 14th, there were five (confirmed or presumptive) cases in Essex County. The vast majority of those contracting the virus will have mild to moderate cold or flu-like symptoms. Some will have more serious illness. Minimizing spread of the virus and maintaining hand hygiene, other recommendations and healthy lifestyles are important. If you develop symptoms, call your primary care physician.

‘Social distancing’ means “remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.” “Mass gatherings” is defined differently by different states. In the state of Massachusetts, gatherings of 250 or more are currently not recommended. In many instances. Many…

Nia with Linda and Restorative Yoga Update: All Classes postponed at MAC and MAGMA due to Covid-19 Zoom streaming classes coming soon!

niawithlinda's avatarCape Ann Wellness

covid-19-coronavirus-dance-trend-funy_5bjw.1920Well this is a crazy mess isn’t it?  In light of our older, sorry, participants and in light of my immunosuppressed husband coming home tomorrow, I need to postpone classes at both MAC and MAGMA.  But we need to dance and move so…

Luckily I am a techie so I’m working on a way to stream classes via ZOOM.

I’m awaiting a new mic from Amazon to arrive on Wednesday and I’m test driving the Zoom platform. My church just did a service on the same platform and it worked pretty well so we may be in luck.

I’m planning on streaming classes at the same days and times unless you want me to change that.  Let me know.

If you want a reason to continue dancing, check out this site with an article entitled “COVID-19 may be causing fear worldwide, but people are lifting their spirits up through dance”

Dear Parents/Guardians, and Staff,

This is the first of two notices coming your way this afternoon. This first notice provides more information about available groceries and meals.

If you recall, I sent out a notice yesterday indicating that beginning Monday, March 16, the Gloucester schools will provide lunch for ALL students who are in need of a meal (see a repeat of details below).

I want to also inform you that the Open Door is prepared to help as well. The Open Door is able to bridge the grocery gap for families through the food pantry located at 28 Emerson Avenue in Gloucester. Hours of operation are as follows:

Open Door

  • Tuesday: 10-5
  • Wednesday: 10-7

  • Meals will be available between 11:00am and 12:00pm Monday through Friday

  • Families can drive by and they will receive lunch, or individuals can walk up to the door and receive a meal

We’ve taken extra steps to limit touchpoints and we follow a strict cleaning protocol in accordance with the CDC, WHO & ServSafe. Additionally, this time frame tends to be before many come in for dinner, which can be a concern for some.

We understand the next few weeks seem daunting, so if you need a break or want to relax, we’re here for you.
