Out at the Eastern Point Lighthouse From Judy lawler

Hi Joey,
I’ve been following Good Morning Gloucester since around May this year. I really enjoy learning more about Gloucester (even though I’ve been coming up often and on for many years.)
Not getting out much – (self isolating, except to do a little photography) – I don’t know if you accept photos for posts, but I took a ride up this evening from Boston, and the skies were beautiful in the Eastern Post Area tonight.
I’ve attached a couple of photos if you are interested in posting.
Thanks so much for all the great information on Gloucester.  There’s so much more for me to explore now!!!

The video is OUT! Sicilan singer Sissy Castrogiovanni Recording on Halfmoon Beach last month and the video was just released!

All I can say is that sometimes you just happen to kayak to the right place at the right time!  Early this morning as I’m paddling into Half Moon Beach, I hear this angelic voice singing in Sicilian, che bella voce!  There’s a team with her recording. Of course I have to go over and say buon giorno.
Turns out it’s Boston’s own Sicilian-born Sissy Castrogiovanni, Italian award-winning jazz singer and composer, recording today on the beach since sunrise!
Her first album, “Intra Lu Munnu” as well as her latest, “Terra”, are available on Spotify and are beautifully sung in her Sicilian dialect. Of course she loves Gloucester!  You can also check her out  at sissycastrogiovanni.com.  So happy to have met her and her video team Francesco and Luigi, as they were finishing up and before they took off for Caffe Sicilia🇮🇹
Ciao ciao

An “Unwhaling” in photos

Dear Gloucester Friends,
Last evening, in a socially distanced backyard celebration, resident Charles Gantt held an “unwhaling” for his hand-crafted, Barcelona inspired, multi-media whale, PICO.
Charles is a novice artist, and this is his first sculpture (wire, hand-cast concrete, ceramic tile, stone). Attendees were impressed by the amazing piece of backyard, do-it-yourself, art.
We thought you might be interested.

Wooden Sail Boat Seeking Winter Home

We have a wooden sailboat built in 1950 that we have restored, maintained and sailed for 25 years. Over the last two years we replaced the plank keel, sternpost, dead wood, stem and bowsprit. Finally we are on the water again!

We love Cape Anne (one of our crew grew up in Gloucester) and hope to store our boat here and do our yearly spring work of sanding, painting, varnishing and small repairs. We need room to put up staging and store our mast, booms and dinghy. The boat is 34 feet on deck (plus bowsprit and boomkin), with a 50 foot mast.

We’d like to find someone who has a boat or boats and room for one more on their land. Or has a workshop with outdoor space. Or a boatyard/boatbuilder with enough room. (Most boat yards have many boats and space is limited for DIY maintenance). We would also consider buying a piece of land with water and electricity.

Over the past many years we have been lucky enough to share boatshops and have been called “low wake people”. We are very neat, and considerate. We would of course pay storage fees (to be determined) and are open to the possibility of sharing the use of the boat, with an experienced sailor, as part of the exchange. We are hoping to haul out at the end of September. We would appreciate any names, places, and or ideas:

CBD CAN Help Anxiety

Angel Wings Wellness's avatarCape Ann Wellness

We are currently living through anxiety provoking times. The coronavirus is the perfect recipe to turn even the most laid back and centered among us into worrying wrecks, imagining the most catastrophic (although unlikely) outcomes for ourselves and our loved ones.

And that, dear friends, is the day-to-day life of someone living with anxiety. I know because for the last fifteen years it’s an inner world I’ve inhabited. Only for me, it’s not a pandemic I’m freaking out about, but lesser evils such as whether I’m going to make a complete idiot of myself in some social gathering or my own favorite anxiety rabbit hole – feeling anxious about feeling anxious.

While there’s no magic bullet to banish anxiety for good, managing anxiety symptoms is a commonly stated reason why people take cannabis – medical or otherwise – withCBDshowing particular promise in preliminary studies.
