from its days in Gloucester’s fishing fleet to its revival as a living symbol of maritime heritage. Join us at 7:00 PM for this special centennial celebration aboard Adventure. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, passed appetizers and a light dinner, along with live music and dockside access in a festive waterfront setting. At 9:00 PM, guests will enjoy a private fireworks viewing from the deck, offering a spectacular finale to an unforgettable night on the water. This milestone celebration is more than an evening out—it’s a chance to honor 100 years of maritime tradition, support preservation efforts, and reconnect with friends while making new ones along the way. Summer cocktail attire encouraged. As a National Historic Landmark, the Schooner Adventure has played a significant role in shaping the nation’s maritime identity. With its rich history and cultural significance, the schooner has become an iconic symbol of American sailing. The Schooner Adventure’s story is one of resilience and determination, having been reborn as a symbol of maritime heritage after its initial years as a fishing vessel.

Meet Billy, Billy made the journey to Massachusetts alongside his brother, Blue, in hopes of finding a forever home. After being found in a dangerous, high-traffic area with many stray dogs, a kind woman stepped in to bring the two brothers to safety-giving Billy the second chance he deserves. Just like his brother, Billy is a gentle, sweet soul who has done wonderfully living with other dogs and even cats in his foster home. He may be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and reassurance, his loving personality starts to shine through. Billy is still gaining confidence and learning the basics, like walking on a leash. He would likely thrive in a home with another dog to help guide him and make him feel secure. With time, love, and a little encouragement, Billy is sure to blossom into an amazing companion.
Billy has joined our extended stay club, meaning his fee has been reduced in hopes to find his forever home!
Humans have been using plants as medicine for an estimated 60,000 years. Cannabis specifically has been used for health purposes since 2800 BC. Before the advent of modern pharmaceuticals, the only medicine available was from plants and animals. Many well-known medications were originally derived from plants, such as aspirin from willow bark and quinine from the cinchona tree. Until cannabis was effectively outlawed in 1937, it was widely prescribed by American herbalists and physicians.
Today, we are able to combine millennia of traditional wisdom with cutting-edge research to create potent plant medicine that truly works. Plus, we have the science and technology to guarantee potency, safety and efficacy.
Both then and now, humans and plants have coexisted, each relying on the other in countless ways. Plant medicine works in synergy, with a combined strength that’s greater than any individual part. In cannabis, the plant’s naturally occurring compounds – cannabinoids and terpenes – work better together than separately. This is commonly referred to as the “entourage effect.”
Plants possess many beneficial compounds. And, when carefully formulated with potent and purposeful ingredients, plant medicines deliver focused, targeted support when and where you need it most.
We use plants like lavender, ashwagandha and rhodiola rosea – along with plant-based ingredients like L-theanine and DHA – to complement full-spectrum CBD in formulas that support stress, promote sleep, relieve pain and more.
We believe in the power of plant medicine. We’ve seen the positive impact that CBD – and other botanicals – can have on a person’s quality of life. Made to work. Made for all. That’s our promise and our mission.

What surprises many people is how much horses teach us beyond horsemanship.
Horses require us to slow down. They ask us to be present, calm, and aware. They mirror our energy honestly, which can reveal a lot about our own emotions and communication style.
Through foundational horse experiences, people often develop:
Greater confidence
Patience and emotional awareness
Better communication skills
Trust and leadership qualities
A stronger sense of grounding and connection
We benefit from learning not just how to work with horses, but how to build mutual trust with another living being.

I remember that you actually delivered a jacket to me several years ago at our house on Harbor Road, Gloucester. And I shared several of my art pieces with you.
The show is open, at the Matz Gallery, Sawyer Library, Gloucester, and the reception I am inviting you, and your friends, and family, which is open to the public, is this Thursday, June 11th, 5:00 – 6:30 pm. A portion of the proceeds are donated to the Sawyer Library. It would be appreciated if you could share the Matz Gallery show with your readers.
I know you have taken some great photos, and I would be honored to explain the photogravure process to you.
ps. And coincidentally, I have 3/3 art pieces in the juried “Art on the Rocks”, seArts show, with other artists, and their reception is also on this Thursday, June 11th, at 5:30 pm ! It is at the Bass Tocks Golf Club, Gloucester. And a portion of the proceeds of the seArts show are donated to the RV Lily Jean Fund. I am so fortunate and blessed to have two receptions at two different venues at the same time, and I can help support two special Gloucester funds.
