Family Fun Event on Saturday, August 10 at 11:15 am 

Come learn about, meet & handle (if you’d like!) many types of snakes, some of which are from our local area. Rick Roth and his Cape Ann Vernal Pond team will share their knowledge and enthusiasm as they present science in a unique and fun way and help the Sawyer Free Library celebrate the summer reading theme of Read, Renew, Repeat which strives to bring attention to our natural world.

All ages are welcome at this family-friendly event which will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 11:15am at the Trinity Congregational Church, lower level, 70 Middle Street in Gloucester.

The Cutup – Comedy Open Mic Night – $5 at the door to laugh, or try to make people laugh, or both! – Doors at 7pm.
TRIVIA! – Come test your smarts with our new bar trivia series. Game starts at 7:30pm. It’s free to play, but we do suggest you make a reservation to secure a table. Trivia will be held EVERY Wednesday night in the restaurant.
Thursday:
In Bloom Listening Series with Christian Towler, Alexandra Grace and The Far Out. There are still tickets to this show where singer/songwriters showcase their music in an intimate setting. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm.
Reggae Night with Matt Jenson in the restaurant. Music from 8pm – 10:30pm. No cover.
Friday:
The Wolff Sister with Ali McGuirk – Join us for an evening of music from incredibly talented women! The Wolff Sisters played Boston Calling in the spring – you won’t want to miss their debut at The Cut! There are still tickets available for this show. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm.
Saturday:
The Ibiza Party – A DJ Dance Party with Jaminic – 9pm – Midnight. Huge dance floor, huge sound, huge bar, Ibiza vibes – No Cover.
Sunday:
Gloucester Speaks Film Screening – We’re looking forward to our first film screening! Filmmaker, Shep Abbott will be in attendance for a Q&A session following the film. Doors at 7pm, film at 7:45pm. Seating is GA. There are still tickets to this event.
Vinyl Night in the restaurant. BYO records and we’ll spin them! 4pm – 10pm. This will be a recurring event every Sunday.

A Librarian Falls for Niagara Falls: Travel Presentation at the Sawyer Free

Join the Sawyer Free Library Assistant Director Lisa Ryan on Thursday, August 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm for an engaging presentation on Niagara Falls feature breathtaking photos and videos captured throughout the seasons. Explore this majestic natural wonder’s formation, cultural impact, hydroelectric development, and ecological considerations. For fun, Lisa will also delve into tales of famous daredevils and offer travel tips.
