From The IDRC dory Committee;

Let the race season begin!!

 For those of you who have been anxiously waiting for the race boat launch, you will have the opportunity to help out tomorrow morning.  We will be meeting at Eastern Ave Self Storage in Gloucester at 8:30 AM tomorrow Saturday May 10th to load up the freshly painted race dories, then trailer them to the High School landing.  This process shouldn’t take long, but we need bodies to load and unload as well as trailers to tow.  Please respond if you can help!  Looking forward to a great rowing/racing season.

Largest Bluefin ever caught! World Record?!

Bluefin-21 search for Flight MH370
A robotic submarine has completed its first successful scan of the seabed in the hunt for the missing Malaysian plane, but investigators say tests have ruled out that a nearby oil slick came from the aircraft.

The Bluefin-21’s first two missions were cut short by technical problems and deep water, but the unmanned submarine managed to complete a full 16-hour scan of the seabed far off Australia’s west coast overnight. Data was still being analysed but nothing of note had yet been discovered. The sub has now scanned 90 sq km (35 sq miles) of the Indian Ocean floor.

From deb Clarke;

Hi Paul! so pleased to see that you are doing your ahht!

I tend to not work on an easel, but I have a lot of work in progress.

left to right: small mixed media idea panel based on The Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

A drawing of a face that I remember, a ‘downtown’ woman that I have not seen on the streets for a few years.

A beginning of a verre eglomise of the tug that was next to the Rockland barge that is working around the harbor.

My messy work space with two verre eglomise in progress. The gold one is of keys, I may change it to a figure panel.

Small mixed media ghost of Versaille.

Another face I remember from working at Bananas.

I haven’t been keeping up with my debbieclarke.blogspot; but may resurrect it as I am now a full time artist.

If folk would like to follow my doings, I keep my facebook up-to-date…err…sometimes minute at http//www.facebook.com/debbie.clarke.5011 where my public posts can be followed.

best,

deb.

“Going Back From Whence We Came”

“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came.”
