ANTONIO GENTILE BANDSTAND CONCERTS BEGIN ON JULY 8
NORTH SHORE ACAPPELLA TO OPEN SEASON
North Shore Acappella performs Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 7pm, in the opening concert of the 2012 Antonio Gentile Bandstand Summer Concert Series at Stage Fort Park. The rain date for the concert is Wednesday, July 11. The concerts will be held for eight weeks, ending with the Cape Ann Big Band on August 26. To access the season schedule, visit www.davidlbenjamin.com
Concert Series Director David Benjamin promises an exciting season with three new groups joining in on the bandstand stage. “We’re mixing it up a little to add some new sounds to our summer nights” says Benjamin. “This year we introduce the Good Old Salty Jazz Band in a tandem concert with Honky Tonk Women. We have also added Allen Estes with Old Cold Tater and we are bringing the exciting Cape Ann Big Band in for our final concert. This should be a lot of fun”.
The opening concert features North Shore Acappella who became a national sensation competing in last summer’s ‘The Sing-Off, on the NBC. We welcome them and their followers back to Stage Fort Park. The concert series is funded by Corporate and Individual donations. “We had a tough goal for fundraising but our loyal audience and friends in the business community came through with most of what we needed this year. We can still use help” says Benjamin. Donations can be mailed to Cape Ann Community Band, C/o David Benjamin, 32 Revere Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. COMMUNITY BAND PLAYERS START REHEARSALS
The Cape Ann Community Band Presents “Features & Soloists”
Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the Antonio Gentile Bandstand
Stage Fort Park, Gloucester, 7pm, (Rain date Wednesday, August 22, 7pm)
David Benjamin, Director of the Cape Ann Community Band invites you to participate in an exciting program for concert band. The band will rehearse for six weeks beginning on Monday, July 9, at 7pm at the Gloucester American Legion Hall, 2 Washington St., Gloucester.
We will prepare a concert of Solos and Section Features with popular music in many styles. We ask that players commit to at least four of our six rehearsals, including the final two rehearsals on August 6 and 13. Our program is geared toward young and more experienced players. Families are encouraged to participate as well as former school band classmates. The music represents varying levels of ability; there’s something for everyone. Players will need their own instruments. Percussion equipment and stands are provided.
Once again the band is proudly sponsored by Bank Gloucester. Patrick Thorpe, bank president, says “We love this group. They represent the whole of our Cape Ann Community and they always play a terrific program. We’re glad to help.”
Director Benjamin echoes Thorpe’s excitement. “We’ve always had a lot of fun preparing our concerts. It’s a supportive mood at our rehearsals. Everyone is learning and enjoying the company of fellow musicians.”
For information please contact David Benjamin at 978-281-0543 or by email at david@davidlbenjamin.com

Coyote Kolb @ MinglewoodAtLat43 9:00-12:00……Sweet!
I kind of feel like a kid let loose in a candy store knowing Coyote Kolb is coming to town tomorrow night. Also, that feeling as a child on Christmas eve, even. I get like that when I get to see what I consider a great band. So looking forward to seeing these guys. Don’t know if they will ever be back in town again. Come on out to see them 9:00 @ MinglewoodTavern AtLat. Check out the links and see what others have to say.

“Rubedo”
Friday night Coyote Kolb is coming to town. They will be MinglewoodTavern AtLat I can hardly believe it. The first and only time I got to see these guys was with three other bands one of whom I am hooked on big time. The Ten Foot Polecats….well thanks to them I met this band…went totally crazy and bought their CD right on the spot. I have listened to it over and over. I like their style, the way they look and most of all their sound. It’s all so different….rockin, Americana, country fried, sorrowful harmonic, and a wicked rockin blues effect.
I dedicate Royal Bug to my eldest grandson. When he hears it he will know why.

Check em out. I like what these guys have to say about Coyote Kolb.
“There’s a deep-country vibe to Coyote Kolb’s sound, but they also rock fuzzed-out dirges like Neil Young has excelled at over the years. ” -CheapThrillsBoston
“an awesome blend of sound that oscillates between blues, folk, and what I would describe as roadhouse rock n’ roll.” -Prairie Shack Music
“Pure Rock n Roll Bluesy goodness.” – The Noise -Boston
