young talent as my invited musical guest. Jake Pardee turned
21 just last Wednesday (I tried to get him on his actual b-day,
but he said, “No chance, my friend. I have OTHER plans for
THAT night!” 🙂 Still, this Wednesday will mark Jake’s first
legal nightclub/bar performance! For that, I’m truly honored.
Plus… he’s planning on showcasing some brand new material

KBMG and The Everly Sister’s tonight @ The Old Sloop Coffeehouse

The Honky Tonk Women of Gloucester is our 60’s /4 part harmony/all female/doo-wop band,

but we also have a condensed duet version, with Sheila Schrank and Elaine Persons , known as the

Everly Sisters …and we will be  performing  tonight
Saturday at the Old Sloop Coffeehouse in Rockport.
Date: June 23rd.  Doors open at 7pm. 7:30 Elaine and I will kick off the evening with hit songs
from the …..Everly Brothers, Abba, early Beatles, The Miss Patsy Cline, ‘Jose Feleciano’s Rain,
some possible audience doo-wop background vocals & some ’60’s surprises (time permitting)
ending with Roy Orbison’s “Crying”.
Then KBMG, Dan Kings extremely popular band will take the stage.
Every member has played with a variety of famous
people too numerous to mention – one Dave for instance was Billy Joel’s guitarist,
the others are all equally impressive.   We are thrilled to be asked to play at this venue.

I’m really eggcited this week! I have a coupla good shows goin’ on, so let’s get movin’!
Firstly, this Thursday at the Rumblind sees the return of that mayhem inspiring mover of the hips: Mr. John Keegan©, the man who practically invented the hangover! Erstwhile leader of that rocking’ outfit known as Madhouse, Johnny K. is sure to raise your blood pressure to alarming new levels as he gargles his way thru the entire soul music catalog. He’ll be backed up by that palpitating pianist and general keyboard wizard; Mr. John Cameron. We’ll also be tapping our canes to the boogie beat with our own Irish Ace of Pace: Mr. Benny Benson on eggbeaters. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself  will be there, too, monitoring the Richter Scale. Wear helmets!

Thursday night sunset sail on the Schooner Ardelle ~ music 6/21/12

Hi friends, artists, gardeners and Honky Tonk Women fans…..
If you enjoy sailing out on the water…..
A new music, sunset cruise is being offered by Harold Burnham of the Schooner Ardelle
beginning Thursday, June 21st from 5:30 to 8:30. The Everly Sisters (Sheila Schrank & Elaine Persons)along
with Mr. Ron Schrank on guitar and Mr. Barry O’Brien on mandolin will be joining us.
It promises to be a very, very hot night so the water will be a beautiful place especially
at sunset.   Beer and wine, snacks, are available. Bring your own flask !
If you are interested, join us at the dock at 5:45 pm behind the Maritime
Gloucester / Heritage Center (next dock over from the Gloucester harbormaster) off Harbor Loop.
to purchase a ticket (trunnel) and come sail with us.
I believe if you are a museum member there is a substantial discount, as well as students, seniors,

Friday nite June 22 I’ll be opening up the Summer season at a new venue in town. The Castle Manor Inn on Essex Ave. is opening under new management and I’ll be there with an all-star lineup (with Jon Ross, fabulous guitarist and vocalist, John Cameron, once again on keys, and Jeff Casper, the friendly drummer, sitting on his own stool) to crank out some serious dancing music  Let’s keep it alive! Hours are 7 to 10, so you have no excuse not to show up! Come cheer us and them on! We need this!

Deb worked very hard to acquire some awesome prizes. We know people will be pleasantly surprised.As you know this is a fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Disease and we are asking you to please help us by purchasing a ticket and to perhaps persuade your family and friends to attend also. Deb and I would really like to make this a huge success and sell out this event. It’s actually a great deal for what we promise will be a great time for everyone! For $20.00 per ticket you will be entertained by the classic rock band Full Circle. That’s 2 hours and 50 Minutes of awesome music for your dancing pleasure and also included in the ticket price is a Hot & Cold Buffet, not to mention the beautiful 3 hour boat trip on one of Gloucesters most popular Whale Watch Boats, The Privateer IV. That’s more than worth the ticket price right there, but what’s more is there will be a cash bar, 50/50 cash raffle & also prize raffles with what we promise will be some fantastic prizes…There’s one in particular that I would really love to have, but as one of the organizers, I can’t be involved in the raffle’s :`(. Like I said, there are many prizes going up for raffle and you could end up doing well for yourself all while helping this most important cause.

Deb and I are hoping to sell all the tickets in advance so we can take care of expenses and have an idea of what we will be starting with before the raffles begin. Please, we cannot hold ticket for anyone as this can run into myriad problems, but if you want tickets, either Deb or myself will deliver them to you if you need us to. And remember, next Monday, The good old Salty Jazz Band hits it again at the Rose baker Senior Center downtown from 1 to 3 p.m. It’s free and diapers are available at the door! These cats swing! Even if you don’t come, you’ll be there sooner than you know!

We had so much fun last week with Ed Scheer on board that i’ve decided to have him back this week to play along side his old teammate Mr. Mario Perrett. Cutie-pie saxist, former Playgirl© pinup, teen idol and magnificent vocalizer, Mr. MP has what it takes to raise any bar. For years he was the sexaphonist in the Love Dogs as well as in Madhouse. It’s always a pleasure to have both these guys around. They play, they sing, they wear my shirts and steal most of my songs, too. Anybody seen my wallet?
We always manage to pull out all the stops as well as your leg and your finger. With gootar-king and milliner Mr. Greg t. and myself aboard, we’re hoping to have a rousing good time. So bring your dancing shoe and your stump and hobble waddle doodle all night long!
