Thursday Night Blues Party with Dave Sag to host Steve Sadler & Jimmie Scoppa @ The Rhumb Line~11-1-2012

This Thursday will be a great nite of rock ‘n roll and algorithm and blues since we have two titanic glitarists  of the Boston scene on board.  I’m talking Mr. Steevie Sadler and Mr. Jimmie Scoppa. Steevie, our commodious multiincrementalist and stellar vocalist, is one of our most popular care-actors of all time. And Jimmy is no slouch, either, having played for years with T.H.and the Wreckage, one of the finest roots bands that ever came out of  Boston. You’ll be smelling Vitalis® and yelling “uncle”!
Last Thursday saw Ms. Mari Martin wreck the joint, so, to keep up the momentum, she’s gonna join me up at Glenn’s in Nbpt. for another great nite. That’s this Sunday nite from 6 to 9. Glenn’s is great restaurant and fabulous venue to hear music, so, get your butt over the bridge and join us for some fun!

Mari Martin to join The Dave Sag’s Blues party this Thursday night @ The Rhumb Line

Dave says, I’ve got a treat for ya this week. A new singer (for me anyway) in the form of a classical sireeen. I’m talking’ bout Ms. Mari Martin. Not to be confused with she who’s gonna wash that man right outa her hair. Or some androgynous weenie flying around in a green suit. This is the real deal. She is truly a vocal blunderbuss and will knock you out. This gal was rescued from a life of gargling with razor blades in a piano bar by none other than Marque Earley, who promptly sent her to me. Let’s see what we can do. In keeping with this program I have assembled a tight crackpot unit to back her up. We have Marque Earley on tenor and baritone kazoo and saxophone, Mr. Jon Cameron, on his organ again, Mr. Bob Enik, the spackler, on guitar, who knows how to fill in the cracks, and me, on base bringing up the rear. We’re all really looking forward to this and hope you’ll all come out and cheer for the local girl! We’re nothing without you!

Wednesday’s with Fly ~ Special Guest ~ Rocky Kramm

Surf & Turf Specials!
Wednesdays Only!

Hello everyone!
Wednesday, October 24th
Special Guest:
ROCKY KRAMM!

It may sound like an uncomfortable suggestion from an arch
enemy, but the name ”Rocky Kramm” carries a lot of weight
around these parts.  He’s an extremely intelligent lyricist, an
accomplished guitarist, singer, arranger and writer.  But a
lesser known secret is that the “Rock” also happens to be a
wonderful painter, whose works have been prestigiously
shown in galleries from Boston to NYC! ~ Fly

Tonight’s Blues Party at The Rhumb Line ~ Dave Sag to host Bob Enik.

We continue our medulla oblongation exercises this week with the added tincture  of Mr. Bob Enik to the mixture. He’s a new guy: came by to show Lisa Marie how it’s done some weeks back and now he returns to lead us all into temptation. He mostly plays glitar but had been known to sing, too, usually after applying pressure with a hose clamp.
And furthermore, he’s bringing his own ventriloquist dummy in the form of keyboardist Jim Gambino  with him. Watch his hand disappear in the middle of his back! This cat can really play and sing, too. He eats tone clusters for breakfast!
And finally, Mr. John Loud, formerly of Glou. but now living under  the bridge, will be handling the vibratory duties on his eardrum kit. I’ll be playing bass and singing, too. I can’t wait! We’re drug and gluten free, so you don’t have to be!

This link is all I could find and a neat video with him playing at the Grog

Bob Enik is also featured here with Amy Black

Hello everyone!
Wednesday, October 17th
Special Guest:
ELAINE O’ROURKE!
Last time Elaine O’Rourke came by as musical guest?  June,
2010!  This week she finally returns to us with her gentle
voice, uniquely original rhythmic guitar strumming… plus, a
newly released CD (I played on a couple cuts myself) titled,
“Silence of Time”!  The disc, you’ll soon come to know, is a
true-to-life snapshot of this extremely creative artist’s mind
and spirit.  Let’s not miss this event.  Who knows how long
we might be left waiting for the next visit?  She’s kinda like
a comet! ~ Fly

Orville Giddings to join Dave Sag’s Blues Party this Thursday @ The Rhumb LIne

Dave says,

Just back from a world tour of Ipswich, let’s welcome back that guffawing guitarist and Gleem® spokesmodel, Mr. Orville Giddings. Hooray! It’ll be a pleasure to have him back. Besides playing some really infectious covers, his original toons are are pretty damn good. you’ll like ’em!
Fleshing out the rhythm section will be that fleet-fingered tapper of the keys, Mr. John Cameron, Forrest”Frosty” Padgett, on skinning machine, and yours truly on base.  It’s gonna be a great nite!  Use only as directed.

Playing some 200 gigs a year, Daniel Scott King, shown here

know, this prolific songwriter will soon be relocating to the
West Coast.  Come get him while he’s here… and hot! ~ Fly

Join The Bandit Kings Possee

Public Event · By Dan King

Tuesday

My friends in The Bandit Kings
have decided on a trying a pre-sale pledge
(Downloads, Rare Live Tracks, Cd’s, T-Shirts, House Concerts and More..)
at http://www.indiegogo.com/helpthebanditkings
to raise funds for the next Studio Recording.

my take on the whole process is detailed below or just hit the link to go directly to the site. The latest popular and most successful experiment in music production
is doing a funding campaign(Indiegogo, Kickstarter, PledgeMusic, etc..)
to let us know what you’re preferences are today before we manufacture and print
to avoid wasting precious resources on items nobody wants.

Maybe you stream or download for free but collect Artful concert T-Shirts or posters?
Maybe you like to host parties and hire live musicians only?
Maybe you still love Cd’s?
Maybe it’s all of the above?
or if it’s none of the above
maybe you know a patron of the arts or an interested family member you can forward to.

Either way I really appreciate you’re time and please feel no obligation in any way. A non-vote helps our analysis just as much.
If it’s your cup o’ tea, drink it!

all the best

ps. a bit of proseThe Future/Fall 2012

I remember 8 track tapes in the car, Albums in the house, using Cassettes to record off the radio,
especially those memorial weekend 500 top song marathons while shooting hoops in the driveway.
Got a Cd player for graduation and bought my first ones at Gloucester Music, then came Mp3s, Wave Files
and we traded hard drives then thumb drives and sent files over email, downloaded Itunes and Rhapsody
and today I stream on, Youtube, Spotify and make Pandora radio stations for the car with high resolution Pono on the horizon.

The Future is now. With so many options available at our fingertips
Please Help us decide where to invest our resources.

Microphone technology hasn’t really changed.
Most instruments have been around for decades if not centuries
and recording techniques,
though editing is much easier with computers,
still depend on performance, time and passion.

You’d be a fool to miss this.  He is one of the baddest kats that is what am. Guitar, harp, vocals,he’ll make you weep.  Stevee Chagarris is drumbling, I’m playing bass.
