End of a beautiful early summer day

On Tuesday, went to the beach around 2:00 after work.  Love seeing the little kids getting right into the summer mode.  Actually, went swimming with the saltwater soothing the day’s stress away.

Ringo Tarr and Ted Costa Put up seven flags on the boulevard next to the fisherman’s memorial. Each of the flags has the name of the fishing vessel Lily Jean each flag also has the name of one of the crew members.

Great turnout of youth players & tremendous work by the GHS Boys & Girls Tennis Teams at the 2nd of 3 youth clinics the GHS Teams are hosting. The 3rd clinic is on Sunday May 31st, don’t miss it!

Colorful Backyard Birds

Our backyard in Magnolia has sprung to life. We’ve been watching a pair or Baltimore Oriole males chase a female around; feasting cardinals and humming-birds (haha). Joey’s hummingbirds are welcome in Magnolia anytime. Ours are pretty happy right where they are.

This Week at The Cut

Wednesday is O’Maley Middle School’s Spring Finale! There are still tickets available! Student GA tickets are discounted. Doors at 6pm. Show at 6:30pm. All Ages.

Wednesday night we’ll also have George and Charles Clements, Joe Wilkins, and Scott Moore live in the restaurant 6pm – 9pm. No cover. George & Friends will be hosting an acoustic night in our restaurant every other Wednesday through the summer!

Thursday it’s a FREE show with The Bordellos! The Cut hosts Third Thursday (music) Therapy Free show every 3rd Thursday. It’s our way of saying Thank You to our wonderful community. It’s a great opportunity to check out the venue if you haven’t had a chance yet! There are some seats available – first come, first served. Doors at 6pm. Show at 7pm. 21+.

Thursday night DJs Salomon and Pocktizzy will be in the restaurant starting at 8pm. No cover.

Friday Dead to the Core returns for the 5th show in their 2026 Residency! This is not just a Grateful Dead Tribute – this is a collective of original artists who bring an innovative and unrestrained approach to the catalog of The Dead. Don’t forget your punch card if you’ve attended the other shows! There are still some seats and GA standing tickets available. Doors are at 7:00pm, show at 8pm. 21+

Friday night there will also be live music in the restaurant with Peter Tentindo from 7pm-10pm. No cover.

Saturday we are thrilled to have Booty Vortex back up on The Cut stage! This is a funk-tastic night of danceable disco and more! Booty Vortex ALWAYS packs the dance floor! Seats are sold out, but there are still some GA standing (aka dancing) tickets left. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. 21+.

Plus, DJ Vito & Friends will be throwing it down in the restaurant from 9pm – close. No cover.

Sunday Jimmy Tingle will be up on The Cut stage performing Hope & Humor for Humanity. Come laugh with this Boston Comedy legend! There are still tickets available. Doors at 7pm. Show at 7:30pm. 21+.

Sunday we will also have live music in the restaurant from 2-5pm, along with 50 cent wings and FREE pool!

BRAVO2 is serving their killer Detroit Style pizzas along with a full menu of other delicious salads, sides, and mains. Come on by and check them out! Updated hours are below.

Signs of Summer — pat morss

There’s no doubt we’ve changed seasons.

After 2 weeks of attacking his reflection, this Robin appears to have given up.
An infrequent visitor, a Sei Whale swam by, skim feeding with open mouth.
Our Mourning Dove couple is back, nesting above the solar panels.
We’re hoping the deer now have plenty to eat elsewhere.
This Red Squirrel found an appropriate color for its background.
“I’ve got a problem if that second Cananda Goose wants to share my rock.”
“I’m outta here!”
On Niles Pond, Eddy (the Great) Egret never seems to get all his feathers in order.
“Much better view of the pond from up here.”
We haven’t had swans for years. I hope he/she has a mate.
Mom Mallard, talking to her duckling at the far left – “No, we’re not going swimming yet.”
And a proud mom, at that.

Talk about a great start to spring storms, wow! Here are some cool images from a lightning app called MY LIGHTNING TRACKER.

These images prove just how absolutely dangerous it can be out on the water. Getting caught running in when this happens can turn bad quick.
