I see the owner of the Amber and John working single handed frequently and the sail in the stern keeps the boat steady and the wind does not push the bow off as it would without the sail. I had one on my similar lobster boat when I was hauling traps. Years ago they were very common. John is a very friendly person and I am sure he would be happy to provide you with more detail. He is often at Dunkin Donuts in the morning.
