Tuesday, December 12th at 5 pm

On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, Cape Ann’s Jewish community will remember the 10th anniversary of the devastating fire that destroyed our building, honor our Cape Ann neighbors who helped us rebuild, and look ahead to continued growth.

The event will begin at 5 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church (10 Church Street) where we held our Sabbath service the day after the fire. Then, we will parade down Middle Street to our new building with lights and music.

At the synagogue, we will light the Lobster Trap menorah and then move upstairs to our social hall for a brief program followed by refreshments and music.

  1. Well done community and what a foundation. My grandmother and mom told about when the coast guard station burned down in Annisquam, Grandmother took them in for coffee on there patrol rounds shoreline along with the military it was listed in her obit as well. This was during the time or 1940’s rationing coupons grandmother/mom also told me one of the men brought coffee to her along with sugar as a sing of thanks! That’s the foundation and community still present today!! πŸ™‚ Dave & Kim πŸ™‚
