It is the best day to clam because it is a full moon on the solstice which means the lowest tide in – well – a long time.
They are harvesting the oldest, biggest clams because they can only be harvested on a tidal day like today.

Sure looks like four clammers and a white dog goes by the name of Spot but she seems to be clamming also.

Are you saying Spot shouldn’t count as a clammer because he’s a dog?? Dogs are great clammers!
