  1. Yes we do been a long two weeks I would say brought back some fond memories also:

    Reflection of a path traveled. December to me is always a time to reflect on the past year and road traveled even in memories, before the upcoming adventure of a New Year!

    I called mom this morning on our semi-weekly talk and we talked about my uncle Jack whom rode with Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders in his younger days. Mom told me about the saddle he had always shinning it when she was younger. We used to visit him often in his house off Main Street; close to North Shore Theater. But when his wife died he moved over toward Gloucester High School at the bottom of a hill not sure of the street but believe it was in the beacon or granite street areas that ran into centennial street which ran by Gloucester high school.

    As he used to walk to Sawyer free Library (?) each week to sign out 7 books he was an avid reader. Mom would leave us with Uncle Jack when she had appointments you know restless kids full of energy 6-8 years old three boys not know to sit still for too long. He would either go with us or allow us to go the GHS to play in fields or got down to fisherman statute Stacy Blvd watch cut bridge ships passing through with a set time to be back at his house before mom came back to bring us back to Lanesville.

    Mom would come to pick us up and catch bus back into Lanesville. He already fed us I may add his easy to cook us kids loved (Mom) well that’s a different story. His fried hot dogs in bacon grease withy the fixing!! He, uncle Jack lived to be 103 years young must have been those hot dogs and bacon grease?? :-O Merry Christmas Donna and entire team GMG, community! Say and extra thank you to those who work 7/24 keeping the community safe public safety (Police-Fire-Rescue- Coast guard and the hospital staffs Addison Gilbert hospital! We also took school trips and outing to visit the wisdom keepers the grandmothers-grandfather and those in nursing homes around the cape

    Bless you all! Dave 🙂 & Kim:-)

    Christmas Star by John Willams (Home Alone Soundtrack)

    Lyrics:

    Distant stars, at home up in the heavens.
    Wonder what they see, are they watching me?
    Christmas Star, you spin your strands of silver.
    What a sight to see, are you there to guide me?

    Star light, shine bright.
    See me through the dark night.
    Light my pathway,
    Guide me home for Christmas Day.

    Midnight stars, they sail the sky in silence.
    Hearing all they see, are they hearing me?
    Christmas Star, you watch the world so wisely;
    At my journey’s end, will you be my true friend?

    Star light, shine bright.
    See me through the dark night.
    Light mine, half way;
    Guide me home for Christmas Day.

    Christmas Star light,
    See me on my way.
    Light mine, half way;
    Guide me home for Christmas Day.
