As long as supplies last if any GMG folks want a bumper sticker but can't drop down the dock, just send a self addressed and stamped envelope longer then 7 and a half inches and I'll drop one in the mail for you.
Send the self addressed and stamped envelope to the dock at 95 East Main St Gloucester Ma 01930 care of Joey (put my name in big letters to make sure it gets to me)

It’s from the Sawyer School that was on Friend Street. Mr. Bob Roland (former athletic director) knows all the details:

apparently the post did not go through. If you go to either the facebook page “you know you grew up in Gloucester when….’ or Rick Guarrasi’s facebook page, there is a post on Feb 21, and I just saw Mr. Roland and he told me about the bell.

It used to be the bell at the Paint Factory!

The bell is from the Plum Street School. The Tarr & Wonson folks bought it for $1 from the City when the school ceased operation. They installed the bell at their retail store, Gloucester Paints, on the corner of Duncan Street (now the corner of Rogers and Harbor Loop), before urban renewal. It used to ring every day at Noon. Gloucester Paint closed in 1983-ish. The bell has been on the site through the incarnation of Gloucester Bank & Trust (ceased operation in 2002), TD Bank and whatever the bank was called in between times.
