Chocolate basket filled with chocolate hearts
Today when stopping by to pick up gifts for the family, Don Gibbons was making penuche fudge. As the penuche was heating and setting up in a great copper pot he was giving the batter a frequent stir and keeping a watchful eye. In case you are wondering, penuche (panucci in Italian) is chocolate-less fudge, made typically with brown sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla. The brown sugar lends penuche its warm maple-butterscotch hues.

I am obsessed with chocolate! I have frequently visited different chocolate houses within the Northshore area of Boston. I have come to the conclusion that Nichols is, by far the best chocolate I can find here! I absolutely love it!

I have to admit i go to both Nichols and Turtle Alley for different treats, which makes it sound like I eat alot of chocolate, but I like to purchase gifts at both places. And I do love chocolate if anyone is listening 🙂
