Kwanzan Cherry Tree March 31,2009

Some of the long time GMG readers will recall my fasination with spring, and the development of our Kwanzan Cherry tree and also The Rosa grows along the shore.  This is the first signs of life with the buds starting to form on the Kwanzan Cherry.

  1. I have a Kwanzan Cherry Tree in a pot in my back yard and in early spring it looked like it was beginning to bloom like your picture above; however we had a pretty heavy unexpected frost and it never bloomed out at all and the limbs seemed to have died. I have cut off the dead branches and now all I have is the trunk. I am not sure if the trunk is even alive! When I cut it back, it didn’t appear to have any “green” areas in it but it did seem to be strong. Any thoughts on this? It is only one year old.
