The Queen Bees of Chili Choice- Debra and Maura

Yesterday on my way home from work, the Mrs informed me that if I would like something to eat I better pick something up.

It had been far too long since my last visit to the Gals at Chili Choice so I decided to swing on by and grab some grub.

Debra and Maura are always really sweet and accomodating to me, preparing my special bare Captain Joe bowl of rice, chicken, frijole negros, salsa and xmas sauce (green and red).

Here are the girls posing with some tomales, salsa, and a Southwest Salad consisting of- red chili, roasted corn, grilled chicken with tomato and jalepeno.

More pics to follow of Chili Choice.

An Exercise in Futility-Answering This Question

Are you this person?

Are you the person in your relationship that asks the question “What do you want to do tonight?”

If you are, here are some tips as to not drive the person that you pose that question to, crazy.

If you already have something in mind as to what you want to do, just spill it.

Do not force the person you are asking “What do you want to do tonight?” to come up with 50 freaking suggestions all of which you are predisposed to saying no to.

Just freaking tell me what it is you already have made up in your mind that we are going to do, rather than make me wrack my brain trying to think of something original.

I’m easy, I’ll do just about anything.  So please for the love of god spare me the pain and anguish of being shot down on the 50 or so ideas that I might come up with.

Oh, and this goes for restaurants too.   If you feel like Mexican, just freaking say it.  PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, don’t ask me where I want to go for dinner and make me list off a litany of different dining establishments, only to be led by the nose after that exercise in futility to the Mexican joint.

Thank you- Joey

Mark and Victor Load Wire Onto The Winch

Mark went out the other day and lost his scallop dredge in 20 fathoms of water. It must have got hung up on a rock or something big so his $5000 scallop dredge is sitting on the bottom of the ocean.

Luckily for him he has the bearings of exactly where it is located. He is loading some more wire on and heading out today with a diver to try to hook it back up. 20 fathoms is pretty deep to dive.

I’ll give an update on his luck when he gets in.

Vinca Minor

Spring Blooms at our house.

Vinca, originally uploaded by captjoe06.

We used vinca minor as a groundcovering. I like the way it looks but its a PITA to weed between the stuff. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, I dunno.

Any of you gardening freaks got any suggestions to keep the weeds from growing among my vinca?

Kevin Zelnio, from Deep-Sea News recognized GoodMorningGloucester yesterday in this blog entry. It’s always nice when someone thinks your stuff is interesting enough to share with others, so thanks Kevin.

What was cool about his post was that he linked to a research report that study that shows how half blue lobsters get to be half blue.

If you get a chance check out Deep-Sea News, its packed with stuff that folks like us with ties to the ocean can’t get enough of.
