Morning Glory

My usual breakfast haunt was closed today, so I decided on breakfast at a place I hadn’t eaten at in a while, Morning Glory.

This place is old school. You know a place is old school when they only offer on the tables a big canister of sugar and not the usual assortment of blue, yellow and red packets of artificial sweeteners for your coffee. A request for splenda produced the sweetener of choice and a smile from our very patient server.

Huh?

Is this it or are those posts going to support something?

Looking forward to eating some food here.

MS FRAM scheduled for Gloucester October 6, 2008

MS FRAM approaches Cruisport, originally uploaded by captjoe06.

The MS Fram was scheduled for an Arctic to Antarctic 67 day cruise with a stop in Gloucester on October 6, 2008.

I wonder if the trip will be pushed back. I doubt it but really interesting info about it from it’s website found here including prices for the trip and all the cool destinations along the way-

George Hay has been a long time backman aboard the Trapper John. Here he is after a long day of winter fishing.

Hello world!

GoodMorningGloucester is the spawn of this thread on CapeAnnOnline

The thread started as a daily blog of life on the docks and family photos but as it got longer and longer I realized that a blog is a much better way to organize and share.

CapeAnnOnline has been my local go-to website and will continue to be but we will post our pics here and if I think I have something interesting to say I may share it here.

North Shore Oil Prices

Here is a handy link to a website that shows current local oil prices.

North Shore Oil Prices

Interesting that the range in prices is as high as $3.39 and the low is $2.96.  That’s a big swing but even more interesting is that there are more than one company with that lower price and a bunch at the higher end of that range.  It’s not like it’s just one or two rogue companies with at the extremes.  I think the most common oil tank size is 275 gallons so 30 cents in savings per gallon times 200 gallon fill-up would mean $60 in savings.

Blue Lobster

Last night Captain Bob Beloff who owns the New Horizons landed a partially blue lobster. We get odd items every so often like double clawed lobsters or crabs and such. I figure we get about one or two really blue lobsters a year.

Here are some pics of the one landed last night
