Low Tide At Front Beach

Submitted to the GMG Flickr Group by Thomas Philbrook who writes-

This little beach is right behind our building. Surprisingly, this is just how the image came out of the camera. The only Photoshop was some sharpening. Even the gull on the rock is original!

Located in Gloucester’s Bay View neighborhood is a little inlet called Hodgkin’s Cove. One of the little gems on our side of the bridge. Here’s a recent springtime view.

In Rockport MA — Toad Hall Bookstore on the left — our tired old building on the right. There’s no place like home.

Setting Off In The Fog submitted to the GMG Flickr Group Pool by Thomas Philbrook

Thomas Writes-
I took the liberty of adding the fog to this scene in Rockport’s little inner harbor. It makes for a more atmospheric picture.

Thatcher Island Sunset submitted to the GMG Flickr Group By Thomas Phlbrook

Thomas Writes-

Thacher Island, off the coast of Rockport, is the home of twin lighthouses. Looking forward to visiting the island this year.

Sandy Bay Storm submitted to the GMG Flickr Group by Thomas Philbrook

Thomas Writes-

Another stitched-together series of shots from our 3rd floor perch over Front Beach & Sandy Bay in Rockport, MA. One of those wild summer thunderstorms — brief but intense.

Sandy Bay Solstice Submitted To The GMG Flickr Group Pool By Thomas Philbrook

Thomas Philbrook Writes-

This is the view from our deck above Front Beach in Rockport — stitched together from three shots. We get to watch Summer thunderstorms whip across Sandy Bay from west to east. This is one of those storms last year. I confess to adding the schooner on the right — but this is pretty much the way it looked. Cross my heart.

Above & Below Pigeon Cove Harbor by Thomas Philbrook

Submitted to the GMG Flickr Group Pool by Thomas Philbrook

Thomas writes-

Just north of our downtown in Rockport, Massachusetts is the neighborhood of Pigeon Cove. Its little harbor is a home for a few of our community’s remaining lobster boats & pleasure craft.

Lobstering At Back Beach Picture Submitted by Thomas Philbrook to The GMG Flickr Group Pool

Lobstrng At Back Beach, originally uploaded by Thomas Philbrook.

We have two small beaches in downtown Rockport, the more popular “Front Beach” — and this one, “Back Beach”. This picture is as much about clouds as the beach. I love clouds!
