The Bean At The Block Party

The Bean had an absolute blast at the Block Party.  Her favorite part was dancing to the belly dance instructions.

Family At Appleton Farms

Snoop Maddie Mad is extremely independent and stubborn.  Case in point this weekend at Appleton Farms.  The Mrs tells me that once she picked out her own pumpkin she wouldn’t let anyone else touch it or carry it.  She was determined to carry it herself.  All day.

The Mrs tells me she must have dropped it a hundred times, but every time someone else tried to help her she threw a fit because she wanted to carry it herself.  And so it went.  Ten steps and a dropped pumpkin.  Pick it up and another ten steps or so.  Drop.  Pick it up.  Repeat.

She’s a maniac.

The Bean’s Second Swatting at Imaginary Butterflies Lesson

This woman has the patience of a saint.

Swatting Imaginary Butterflies

The Bean had her first Swatting at Imaginary Butterflies lesson yesterday.

I’d call it a tennis lesson but she probably inadvertantly hit more imaginary butterflies than tennis balls.

I call ’em like I see ’em.  Hopefully I’ll never be one of those parents that walks away from something like that and tell all my friends and relatives how my children are really advanced for their age.

I like to joke with people that my girls are 150th percentile at stuff and then look for the reactions as they try to figure out what that means.

Like after a doctors visit my mom will ask how it went and I’ll tell her that the Bean is 150th percentile for math reasoning.   I’m not sure if she knows if I’m kidding or not, but it’s really just a jab at all those obnoxious parents that blabber on and on about their average children as if they were superstars.

The Bean Gets Her First Tennis Racket

Cousin Amandacakes got The Bean her first tennis racket for her third birthday. She didn’t take the backpack off all day til she crashed leter in the evening.

Remember This Hibiscus Plant?

Remember This Hibiscus Plant?, originally uploaded by captjoe06.

This is the plant Snoop Mad and The Bean picked out at Kane’s back in early May.  Now it has begun its flowering which will continue all summer in its corner on the porch.

Pollen

Pollen, originally uploaded by captjoe06.

Got to work at 5:00AM and the water was covered in pollen. It was everywhere.
Last night on our porch at the homestead The Bean was walking around barefoot.
Her feet were covered in pollen and when I noted it to her she exclaimed- “I’ve been pollinated”!
