As Mother’s Day approaches, I am reminded how quickly the world continues to change. I hope you are all staying as well as you can, mentally and physically. The sad news in our world continues to come but I am trying to stay hopeful that a vaccine is coming soon and that when the crisis is over, that we will have all learned to be kinder and more forgiving to each other.
Arts Abound has been busy in our new role as face mask makers! Just today, Massachusetts’ Governor Baker stated that those folks who are not able to socially distance must wear a mask, or face a $300 fine. We expect to continue our posts at our sewing machines! We continue to donate some masks to help front line workers as well as selling them.
Our masks make a wonderful and colorful gift for Mother’s Day. Think of giving them to your mom, or maybe your dog mom, or the woman who you treats you like a mom, or maybe the mom who looks after your kids. What better way to say that you care than wanting to keep someone safer? I believe that we will each need a few masks, as the pandemic continues, so that we can have one at home, one in the wash, one in the car, and one to give to someone who doesn’t have a mask.
You can choose from the following themes: floral, abstract, juvenile, solid, or neutral. At $15 each, these masks are a great way to be fashionable and safer. You can pick them up curbside at Arts Abound or we can ship them for you for a small extra charge. Working with us is a great way to support local artists and to help our shop pay the rent while we are temporarily closed by the state.
I want to thank all of you wonderful customers for your outpouring of support during this difficult time. It has meant more to me than you can imagine…
Stay safe and sane.
Hugs to you all,
Sue Wheeler, owner
