Palate to Palette – Watch a painting come to life before your eyes while you sip a drink and enjoy a lovely dinner. This is a free event, but we suggest making a reservation to secure a table. Event starts at 5pm.

TRIVIA! – Come test your smarts with our new bar trivia series. Game starts at 7:30pm. It’s free to play, but we do suggest you make a reservation to secure a table. Trivia will be held EVERY Wednesday night in the restaurant.
Thursday: The Gravel Project with Wood & Bone and HDRnB There are still tickets available for this show. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. Music: Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk.

Joe Mulholland returns to Windhover Center for the Performing Arts in Rockport, MA to perform with his Sextet

Joe Mulholland returns to Windhover Center for the Performing Arts in Rockport, MA to perform with his Sextet. The Joe Mulholland Sextet has been performing together for twenty years and have released 3 studio albums. Joe’s original compositions range from Duke Ellington-inspired ballads, to funky New Orleans grooves, to high-speed contemporary jazz workouts. Joe’s music is melodically and harmonically rich, and the arrangements for the horns make the band sound bigger than it is. Joe and his rhythm section mates have played more than 1,000 nights together, so there is always a firm foundation.

Music on Meetinghouse Green presents a free, outdoor concert at 6:00pm featuring ‘What Time is it, Mr. Fox?’on September 1 in front of the UU Church at the corner of Middle and Church Streets. Free-will donations from the audience will benefit the Northshore Health Project. The Lobster Roller is the food vendor. This concert was postponed from August 4 due to heavy rain.

MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN KICKS OFF EIGHTH SEASON WITH JOHN BABOIAN ENSEMBLE FRIDAY, JULY 7 AT 6:00
The eighth season of Music on Meetinghouse Green returns with a performance by the John Baboian Ensemble in a free Friday evening concert at the corner of Middle and Church Streets, July 7 at 6:00 p.m.

Free-will donations will support the concert’s featured local non-profit partner Pathways for Children. Pathways for Children nurtures children and supports families impacted by economic and social inequity through programs that educate, enrich, empower, and motivate. The evening’s food vendor is the Causeway offering up their popular seafood favorites.

The concert features the John Baboian Ensemble with vocalist Sandi Bedrosian. Bedrosian is well known as a lead vocalist and director in a wide range of musical styles and has opened for some of today’s hottest stars. She has performed coast to coast and throughout Europe and her repertoire includes musical productions, theater, and opera.

Well known as an accomplished guitarist and composer in jazz and swing circles, John Baboian is equally at home in the classical, blues, rock, R&B, Latin, and world music traditions. He has performed all over the world and has shared the stage with a who’s who of music industry legends. His work has been featured on a number of popular television series and more than 20 recordings. As an educator for more than 40 years, Baboian has inspired and trained a generation of aspiring musicians. An audience favorite, Baboian and his ensemble, several of whom are fellow faculty members from the Berklee College of Music, have traditionally opened the Music on Meetinghouse Green series.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Now entering its eighth season, Music on Meetinghouse Green features nine free Friday evening concerts from July 7 to September 8. Performances are held on the Green and feature great music, favorite foods from local vendors, and a different North Shore non-profit organization featured each week through free-will donations from the audience. Concerts begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Some chairs will be provided and audience members are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic with delicious local food from our vendors or bring your own. Performances are handicapped accessible and parking on the Green is limited to persons with disabilities.

ABOUT THE GLOUCESTER MEETINGHOUSE FOUNDATION
Founded in 2015, the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation is dedicated to preserving the landmark building as a civic hub, entertainment venue, and community center, offering family-friendly programming not available elsewhere on Cape Ann for the enjoyment of the whole community. In addition to its work to preserve the historic 1806 Meetinghouse, GMF is currently raising funds to restore Meetinghouse Green. The GMF has received a $130,000 grant from the Community Preservation Act and a $2,000 grant from the Essex Heritage Partnership Grant Program towards a total project goal of $340,000. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2023.

JAZZ SINGER RHIANNON HURST PERFORMS AT MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN ON FRIDAY, JULY 29
An award-winning local jazz vocalist and rising star, Rhiannon teams up with a great quartet for another unforgettable free Friday evening
concert at the corner of Middle and Church Streets at 6:00 p.m.

Even before she graduated high school, Rockport native Rhiannon Hurst was winning awards at regional, national, and international competitions
and earning some serious respect in the jazz world. Her talent has been described as, “integrating her innate ability and skills into an emerging musical
personality.” As a high school sophomore, Rhiannon won 2nd place in the Berklee International High School Jazz Singer’s Showcase. She was one of four
graduating seniors to receive the Excellence in Music Award from the Massachusetts Music Educators Association.

Rhiannon was the recipient of a prestigious 2021 National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) award in jazz voice for her caliber of artistic achievement. She
joins 659 of the nation’s young visual, literary, and performing artists in opportunities for collaboration, professional development, fellowships, residencies,
and awards. Now a much sought after performer, Rhiannon’s professional engagements range from local favorite restaurants to Boston’s Symphony Hall and
the State Room.

Your free-will donations will support the concert’s featured local non-profit partner The Open Door – alleviating the impact of hunger in our community
by connecting people to good food, advocating on behalf of those in need, and engaging others in the work of building food security. The evening’s food

GLOUCESTER MEETINGHOUSE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES 7TH SEASON OF
MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN, FREE FRIDAY EVENING CONCERTS AT 6:00 P.M.

Back for the seventh season, Music on Meetinghouse Green features the best in musical entertainment, with everything from Jazz, classic rock ‘n roll and cabaret, to Klezmer, punk, and Middle Eastern fusion! Food vendors offer up delicious audience favorites. Each week a local Cape Ann non-profit organization is featured and supported by freewill donations.

The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation has been organizing this series since 2016 which has continued to grow in audience popularity and in support for Cape Ann’s non-profit community. Last year’s season attracted more than 2,500 concertgoers and raised more than $15,000 all of which benefitted local non-profits.

The series of nine free outdoor concerts runs from July 8 to September 9 and performances are held on Meetinghouse Green at the corner of Middle and Church Streets in Gloucester. Concerts begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Some chairs will be provided and audience members are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Picnic with delicious local food from our vendors or bring your own. Performances are handicapped accessible and parking on the Green is limited to persons with disabilities.

The John Baboian Ensemble has opened the season in support of Pathways for Children in years past and will, once again, kick off the 2022 season of Music on Meetinghouse Green. Baboian is a well-known Jazz guitarist and composer and frequently teams up with fellow musicians from the Berklee College of Music. He has shared the stage with music legends both here and abroad.

GRAND FINALE OF SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN

The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents the Cape Ann Big Band in the last free Friday evening concert on Meetinghouse Green at the corner of Middle and Church Street, September 10th at 6:00 p.m.

The nine-event summer series free-will donations go to each evening’s featured local non-profit partner. Donations from the September 10th concert go to the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation for the ongoing preservation of the 1806 Meetinghouse. Delicious seafood will be offered by the Causeway restaurant.

The Cape Ann Big Band features performances that are built on a repertoire without borders. Their high-energy concerts have audiences on their feet dancing to Jazz, Swing, New Orleans Street Bands, Soul, and Rock n’ Roll. Concertgoers will appreciate familiar standards from the “Golden Age” of Swing, Pop, and popular show tunes. Add in a vocalist drawn from their diverse group of talented musicians, and you can count on a memorable evening with something for everyone.

JOHN BABOIAN ENSEMBLE PERFORMS FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3 AT MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN

The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents the John Baboian Ensemble in a free Friday evening concert
on Meetinghouse Green at the corner of Middle and Church Street, September 3 at 6:00 p.m.

With deep roots in the ‘Bop’ tradition, the John Baboian Ensemble consistently wows audiences on Cape Ann. The
Ensemble has played as the opening act at Music on Meetinghouse Green since the very first concert. This summer’s
hot and wet weather delayed this popular band’s opening, but they are looking forward to playing at Meetinghouse Green
at the beginning of September. The performers are accomplished musicians, mostly all faculty members of Berklee College
of Music. They have played and taught all over the world, from Europe, to Africa, to Asia, and all over the North American
continent. Their music includes Jazz and Swing Standards, with repertoire from “The Great American Songbook”.

Free-will donations go to the evening’s featured local non-profit partner, Pathways for Children, a local organization nurturing
children and families suffering economic and social inequity, through educational programs that enrich, empower, and motivate.

CONCERT DESCRIPTION

The John Baboian Ensemble have been playing together since 1990, developing a steady following of fans that enjoy guitar-oriented
Jazz and American Standards. They have recorded several CDs that will be available for sale. This year the band will feature John on guitar,

EZEKIEL’S WHEELS PERFORMS FRIDAY AUGUST 20 AT MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN
The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents Ezekiel’s Wheels in a free Friday evening concert on Meetinghouse Green at the corner of Middle and Church Street, August 20 at 6:00 p.m.

Boston’s Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band has been captivating audiences around the world with their passionate virtuosity and contagious energy. Klezmer music has the familiarity of chamber music and the force of rowdy dance band music. Ezekiel’s Wheels’ contemporary spin on Jewish music enthralls audiences from elementary school students to the judges at the International Jewish Music Festival, who described them as ‘a true musical democracy’.

Free-will donations go to the evening’s featured local non-profit partner, the Grace Center, a day resource center for men and women in need of a safe and supportive environment in Gloucester, Salem and Beverly. Fresh pizza will be available from a local food vendor.

CONCERT DESCRIPTION
Ezekiel’s Wheels honed their craft in Boston’s farmer’s markets and subways stations, where the informal settings created ideal opportunities for musical experimentation. They succeeded in building up a community of fans and friends across the city. They have since fine-tuned their skills, and have performed at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, the Kennedy Center and at Yidstock. In 2017 they expanded their repertoire to include songs in Yiddish and English. The GODDESSES PERFORMS FRIDAY JULY 30 AT MUSIC ON MEETINGHOUSE GREEN
The Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation presents The Goddesses in a free Friday evening concert on Meetinghouse Green at the corner of Middle and Church Street, July 30 at 6:00 p.m. The Goddesses are a five-piece rock and roll, rhythm and blues band playing songs that make you want to sing along or dance along, or both. For the past five years, Samantha (vocals) and Tony Goddess (guitar), alongside Dave Sag (bass), Steve Chaggaris (drums), and John Cameron (keys) have been serving up the songs you love from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Free-will donations go to the evening’s featured local non-profit partner, The Open Door, a group that works to alleviate the impact of hunger in our community, connecting people to good food. Local food vendor for the evening is Jalapeno’s Mexican Restaurant. The 2021 summer music series is dedicated in memory of Harry Hintlian for his encouragement, generosity, and for making the Meetinghouse a net zero building. CONCERT DESCRIPTION
The Goddesses hail from our local club scene, including the Orville Giddings Band. The band finds inspiration from 50‘s artists such as The Coasters, Chuck Berry, Huey ‘Piano’ Smith, and Buddy Holly. Musical inspiration also comes from 70’s sounds such as The Dwight Twilley Band and NRBQ.

Music on Meetinghouse Green, now in its sixth season, features nine free Friday evening concerts with great music, favorite foods from local vendors, and benefits a different North Shore non-profit organization each week through free-will donations from the audience. Concert goers bring lawn chairs and blankets to spread out across the spacious green. Performances are handicap accessible, parking on the Green is limited to persons with disabilities only.

Founded in 2015, the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation is dedicated to preserving the landmark building as a civic hub, entertainment venue, and community center. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, MITWE brings together traditional and new music, works commissioned by the ensemble, special guests, and alumni.  In tribute to its recent tour to the Dominican Republic and collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, the concert features “In Praise Of The Humpback,” prefaced by remarks by legendary biologist-environmentalist and whale song expert, Dr. Roger Payne.

Renowned music educator Stephen C. Massey leads Persichetti Symphony no. 6, and legendary wind ensemble conductor-historian Frank L. Battisti will be honored by performances of three works composed for his 85th birthday in 2016, by Kenneth Amis, Kathryn Salfelder, and Michael Weinstein. MITWE’s percussion ensemble performs a new work in honor of MITWE’s 20th anniversary and “Course Sax” performs Piazzolla’s famed “Cafe, 1930” from Histoire du Tango. MITWE alumni join current MITWE members to close out the program with Gustav Holst’s amiable Second Suite in F.

FOR OUR FATHERS, Sunday, April 28, 2019 7:30pm, at the Gloucester Meetinghouse: acclaimed Austrian soprano Ute Gfrerer, accompanied by pianist William Merrill, and renowned Boston artist Lisa Rosowsky present a deeply moving evening of song and art, based on the legacy of silence of their two fathers during World War II, one an Austrian member of the Nazi Youth Party, and one a French Jew. In a unique collaboration, the two artists present a Holocaust-themed program of music and mixed media artworks, based on memories of their fathers.  The event is co-hosted with Temple Ahavat Achim. The Meetinghouse (home of the Unitarian Universalist Church) is located on the green at the corner of Middle and Church Streets (accessible side entrance at 10 Church Street with an elevator).  Tickets ($45 preferred, $30 general, $10 students with ID, under 12 free) are available at the door and in-advance with more information at gloucestermeetinghouse.org

About the program from the artist, Lisa Rosowsky: 

When we met in 2017, Ute had already developed a repertoire of musical performances incorporating music that had been set to poems by writers caught up in the Holocaust, and for more than a decade I had been creating mixed media works of art around being the daughter of a survivor. We knew we wanted to find a way to weave together our work into an audio-visual program, and it became my task to craft the presentation. We were amazed by how many of her songs matched up thematically with my pieces! Our goal was to move the audience seamlessly between each song and each work of art, setting both into historical context while offering insight into our individual experiences with our fathers. Over the course of a few months, we developed this performance, which we are pleased to share with you.

Benefit event:  This event is co-sponsored by Temple Ahavat Achim with support from the Paulson Fund, by the Series Sponsors of the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation, and by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  Proceeds will be used to benefit the ongoing preservation of the historic (1806) Meetinghouse as well as to support Temple Ahavat Achim’s Rabbi Myron and Eileen Geller Endowment Campaign for the Sylvia Cohen Religious School and Family Learning

Though Dog Bar and Landing are closed, you can find Michael O’Leary and friends on alternate Sundays at Jalapenos (only in America!) brought together by their love of traditional music beautifully played, sung and felt. They were at the Farm on St Patrick’s Day, and Lannon music sails.
