After another great breakfast at Sherry’s Corner Cafe, 2 Lexington Avenue, Magnolia, Gloucester, MA  01930 crossed the street to Magnolia Library to take a look at the Valentine Tree.

Agape Giving Tree Magnolia Library

In conjunction with the outdoor Magnolia Tree Lighting, Agapé Brewing Community will be lighting an indoor “giving tree” on Sunday, December 8 at the Magnolia Library. Agape has partnered with Pathways for Children to supply gifts for up to 45 local children in need. The Giving Tree will have tags/ornaments each listing info about the children (age, favorite things, toy wish list, etc). After we light the tree, all in attendance are encouraged to take a tag and go shopping for that child. All gifts should be NEW and UNWRAPPED and can be dropped off at our 2nd Annual Holiday Marketplace on Sunday Dec 15 from 12pm-5pm at the Magnolia Library (additional drop off times TBD).

The tree lighting will also feature food, beer, live music, crafts, games, and pictures with Santa.

Spring Has Sprung

Celebrant and Folklorist Rose Sheehan will lead a lighthearted celebration of the Vernal Equinox and the Return of Spring at the Magnolia Library and Community Center on Sunday, March 24 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Drawing on the seasonal wisdom found in nature, mythology and folk customs, Rose will weave a mix of games, crafts, story and song throughout the afternoon. The celebration is appropriate for all ages. There is a suggested sliding scale of $5 to $15 per person.
We will meet upstairs in the Richardson Suite.

Magnolia Library and Community Center is hosting a blood drive with Red Cross on Friday, February 15 from 2-7pm. Since many blood drives nationwide have been cancelled recently due to extreme weather, donations & support are critical. Join friends and vendors like Agapé Brewing Community, Simply Simon Soap & Skincare, Periwinkle Treasure, Magnolia Historical Society Inc, Pauline’s Gifts, Little Dresses for Africa/Gloucester,Ma., Visual Interest, as well as Reps from PureHaven, Color Street, Paparazzi, Young Living, art work from local photographers Sharon Lowe, Donna Ardizzoni, and Melissa Cox and so much much more!!!!! Light appetizers and wine sips provided by vendors. Donations and proceeds benefit the Magnolia Library’s upcoming construction of handicap accessible bathrooms.
