Monday May 25th is a great time to meander on down to Mile Marker One to enjoy a fun rock performance by The Hot Tub Piranhas who will help you move your feet to some of the best classic & modern rock covers ever produced. We will be playing from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We promise a terrific show for you to feast your ears on and move your feets to, all while you feast on some exquisite fare from the bounty that is the sea. The food is terrific here as are the beverages, all served by an attentive and friendly staff. You cannot go wrong when you go to Mile Marker One… so go. 🙂 See you there! These legendary Vermont Rockers are bringing the funky

High energy is the hallmark of Burlington, VT’s Gang of Thieves. Their sound and energy is a cross between Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a funky blast of Green Mountain soul thrown in the mix. The key to their appeal is the infectious sense of fun and showmanship, delivered with a hint of spiritual and political awareness, without any of preachy self-righteousness. With a live show that will leave you screaming and exhausted from your nose to your rump, these up and coming rock stars will leave you begging for more!

These Green Mountain rockers have won over diverse audiences coast-to-coast, opening for the likes of Skid Row on the one hand, and up-and-coming jam band Twiddle on the other. Say what? Yes, it’s true. Word on the street (the mean streets of Rockport, MA) is that Karin Porter of the Fish Shack (the restaurant, not the fish shack) in Dock Square is serving oysters along with a signature Motif No.1 Day cocktail to kick off the weekend’s pahtying in downtown Rockport in front of the Motif No. 1 Day festival on Saturday. Rockporters and assorted other types are eating raw mollusks in celebration of Motif No.1, Rockport’s famous fishing shack.

Motif No.1 is so famous that it has a festival dedicated to celebrating every inch of its surface, documented down to the last buoy and nail hole. It’s like Cape Ann’s very own Kardashian; we know everything about it and we still can’t get enough.

Come on down to Dock Square, eat oysters and lobster rolls, listen to music and generally party like it’s M1D:2015 this weekend! Because it is!

Our chronically underfunded musical re-education program proudly presents the return of Ms. Cheryl Arena, citizen, harpist, and vogellizing ringmaster of the third degree. I let her pick her herd of thundering magicians and it’s always a blast. So, Thursday night, her orange-jumpsuited crew consists of Mr. Pete Henderson, encyclopedic amazo, on, yes, the catarrh and vocals, Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, on the eggbeaters, and me, on the blunt instrument. Ask your veterinarian if The Blues Bash is right for you. Do not dance to excess as the miracle ingredients can cause mirth defects in your unborn notions.

Saturday May 16 One World Coffeehouse last show this season- Meridian and Charlee Bianchini

The One World Coffeehouse, 59 Main St, Essex, MA (street level entrance of  the U. U. Church), is pleased to offer a split bill on Saturday, May 16, 8 PM, with the singing duo Meridian and singer-songwriter Charlee Bianchini.  


Each group will play a set, with an intermission in between to sample the delectable sweet, teas,  and coffees.

Charlee Bianchini, has been making her mark as a gifted singer and writer, starting with her local roots, then branching out as she traveled meridian photo credit Jason Growoverseas and back home to her beloved Gloucester.

We got a real fine band this week: The Euphemystics. Not really new but famous in my own mind as a favorite to work with.So, let’s get going! Our fearless leader this time is the diaphanous Mr. Edd Scheer, the singing, talking drummbler par excellance. He sings, he plays, he has amusing side effects on the band and crowd.  As agent provocateur, we have the commodious Mr. Jack Ward (Cleaver): glittering glitarist, singer, and blues composter; a real pleasure. On sax, we got that former teen idol  and Playgirl® spokesmodel with his jewel-encrusted uvula: Mr. Mario Perrett. From Maine, we got the guy who put the bunion (Bunyan?) in Bangor: Mr. Paul Foss. Just back from the Sum Yung Guy food festival in Shanghai,  let’s welcome back Mr. Greg Lutrell, citizen and catarrh master. Sings like an angel, too. Mr.l spends a goodly time in China each year, but he’s home now and willing to regale you with his seasick repertoire. It’s always a pleasure to follow him around all his groovy machinations, curve balls and all. Drumming up some enthusiasm will be my old buddy Mr. Roger Brocklebank. With his hollow leg, he’ll be taking anybody’s leftovers home with him. Eat hardy and enjoy!

I’m back! And I’m ready to esophageally regale you with tales of loup Garou, after visiting the hinterlands  of swamp county, USA. Let’s go!
