Herring gets dumped into the main hopper from huge vats on rotating forklift forks. The Herring travels up the conveyor and dumps into totes to be packed for lobstermen. The entire plant is operated by two men. Years ago this property employed hundreds of people, now two people work this plant through innovations like transvac herring pumps and herring conveyor hoppers.
