Raising Money For The Family Of Matteo Russo

Here is the logo-

While away I was wracking my brain trying to think of some ways that would have a decent impact to help the family of Matteo Russo.

I just got in touch with Rob Newton, the manager of The Cape Ann Community Cinema and asked if we could donate a portion of what the gate is from the upcoming G-GAP presentation at Cape Ann Community Cinema to the fund that has been established for Matteo’s family.

He said sure, so Cape Ann Community Cinema will take the regular gate and 30% will go to the fund for the family.

The event is going to be January 28th at 7:00PM

There’s more though.

I just ordered a bunch of T shirts that Paul Frontiero has graciously agreed to silk screen for free and Beth Swan From Beth Swan Design is offering her winning GoodMorningGloucester Logo design and art skills to the project.

So if you haven’t been able to contribute to help the family but would like to, I should have the Tshirts at the GGAP next Wednesday night for $20.  100% of the money from the sale of the TShirts will go to the family on top of the money from the gate.

It’s not going to be a percentage of the money from the sale of the tshirt minus the cost, but every cent donated for the tshirt will go to help the family.

Hopefully some of the regular CAO and fans of GMG and will come on out in support.

Much thanks go out to Rob Newton, Paul Frontiero and Beth Swan for helping with the project.

The Mrs Reading

The Mrs did a ton of reading.  The particular book she was engrossed in came highly recommended and people were stopping her in the airport to ask about it. She’s reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle By David Wroblewski

Cape Ann Symphony Concert Jan. 24

This year’s family concert features the world premiere of “Katy and the Big Snow” by local composer Robert J. Bradshaw. Commissioned by the Cape Ann Symphony to commemorate award-winning author & illustrator Virginia Lee Burton’s centennial year, the musical retelling of the children’s classic with a Cape Ann connection is destined to become a classic in its own right. This joyous performance will appeal to the young at heart of all ages.

Be sure to check out Flapping like a Haddock for more things to do on Cape Ann.

Thanks! —Sharon

The Bean Helps Mommy With The Tiramisu

Here’s the team that makes the best damn tiramisu in the entire nation.

Anemone At The New England Aquarium

I needed about 3 hours more to get the pictures I wanted to at The Aquarium.  This is one of those times where you have to balance family time with trying to get the right shot as the girls were going nuts.  The Bean excitedly screaming that each exhibit was her new favorite and Snoop Maddie Mad flying up and down the ramps with wreckless abandon.  I managed one or two decent snaps out of dozens though.

This one is kinda pretty.

Bake Stuffed Shrimp Ready For the Oven

Ma puts a slice on the outside curve of the shirmp so they will sit standing like this for baking.   A good place to buy shrimp locally is Intershell located in the Fort across from The Chamber of Commerce.

Chicken Spedini

Here’s my mom’s chicken spedini.  Inside the rolled up and breaded chicken is cheese ,red pepper, onion and some other things.  They rock.

Becoming Dad

So last night I went into town to take one of my best friends, the Rabbit out for dinner to celebrate his birthday.

I don’t know when it hapened but the City of Boston has extended the parking meter feeding times to 8PM and that was coupled with a two hour maximum time that the meters will take the money around Boston Common area and Newbury Street.  So once you feed your two pounds of quarters (if you can find them in your car) and head off to dinner, you have it stuck in your head that you have to make sure you walk all the way back and feed that meter.   It was freezing cold and not a pleasant walk back to feed the meter although dinner at PF Changs and Finale for dessert was great and the Rabbit is always fun to hang out with.  I guess I could have parked in a garage and not worried about it and next time I will.

The point of all this rambling I guess is that when I was in my 20’s and early thirties I would go into Boston every week to tear shit up and never once thought about how much it cost to park.  Never once.

I remember when I was young hearing my father grumble about the cost of going into Boston and thinking that it was never a deterrent to me but now the drive in and parking situation has put a tiny little ding in the shiny allure of heading into the the City for a night out.

JJ Jinglenuts Favorite Spot In The House

Nobody has it better than Mr Jinglenuts. (other than the fact that he had his nads amputated)

Snoop Mad Is Fearless

While The Bean had to build up courage to go down the slides, her younger sister is missing the “fear gene”  It’s amazing how different they are, The Bean being mindful and neurotic like her father and Snoop Mad being headstrong and fearless like her mom.

The Bean Climbs At Monkey Joe’s

Yesterday we went to Monkey Joe’s.  It’s a childrens place where they have a bunch of those blow up jumping and climbing things.  We luckily got there right when it opened and there weren’t too many people there yet.   We generally don’t like to go to these places because I’m thinking that they are just big time breeding grounds for germs and sickness with all the kids drooling and wiping thier snots everywhere(my kids included).  What made me feel pretty god about Monkey Joe’s was that when we got there (right when it opened) everything was wiped down with antibacterial wipes.  Everything was just about dry from the wiping and you could see that they went over everything.

It took the Bean a while to build up enough courage to climb this on her own but once she did, there was no stopping her.

JJ Jinglenuts Cleaning His Junk

Not sure this needs much explanation.

We’ve actually been contemplating the legal name change to JJ Not-So-Jingleuts ever since he had his boys “lopped off”.

Snoop Maddie Mad has a phantom cut on her finger.  When we ask her where she got her boo boo she exclaims excitedly “JJ!”  Now every time she bumps her head or falls we ask her who did it to her and she says “JJ!”   Poor Mr Jingles, he’s pretty much doomed in this house.

Snoop Mad Paints

This is the first time that Snopp Maddie Mad has used the easel to paint.  She didn’t do half bad, but that’s to be expected.  She’s gifted.  The doctor said she’s 1000000th percentile for artistic ability.  Honestly.
