By Lenny Megliola
Dave says,
I’m throwing Ms. Lisa Marie to the wolves this week as I bow out to the travel gods and take my muddy boots to New Orleans. I need a vacation. I’m gonna search for loop garou in the fetid swamps. I’m gonna get bit on my mojo hand. And I’m gonna eat too much. I can’t wait!
So Ms. LM is bringing in the heavy artillery in the form of Mr. Johnnie Juxo, Tarzan of the keys, Mr. Silverfish Steve on DDT glitar and Mr. Chris “Anzio” Anzelone on clubs. It’ll be a blast! And, I’ll see you next week! Always have fun!

Don’t miss out on Martha Davis and The Motels with Ruby Rose Fox opening @ The Larcom Theatre on April 22,2015
Martha Davis and The Motels
Her voice is unique, unmistakable and timeless. Already sold out at TCAN in Natic, Martha Davis and The Motels burst into Beverly on April 22 for one night only!
Don’t miss the band that defined MTV with their top 10 hits “Only the Lonely,” “Suddenly Last Summer,” “Total Control,” “Take the L out of Lover” and more.
“…arguably the most charismatic female performer in rock.”
“Martha Davis, of the Motels, was still strong in voice and admirably delivered hits like ‘Only The Lonely’ and ‘Suddenly Last Summer.'”
With
Ruby Rose Fox opening
Ruby Rose Fox, a vocal powerhouse of soul driven, edgy rock ‘n’ roll (with a nod to newwave pop), whose voice threatens to knock down the walls of any room in which she performs is hard at work to make 2015 her strongest year of new releases and live performances. Ruby Rose Fox was the lone standout of Boston-based artists to make The Boston Globe’s list of “10 Bands and Solo Artists to Watch in 2015,” and winner of the 2014 Boston Music Award for Best Female Vocalist in addition to her nomination for Singer-Songwriter of the Year.
“arty, edgy rock ‘n’ roll that lets her be Lou Reed and Nico at the same time … [and seems] to come from another scene, another world.”

Sax Gordon Tonight! Dave Sag’s Blues Party @ The Rhumb Line 8:30-11:30pm 3.26.2015
So, this is the big one: The return of the one and only Mr. Gordon Beadle. The man with the golden Sax. This hypoxia-inducing master of the honky sax will have you gasping for breath as he literally sucks all the oxygen out of the room and recycles it wobbling directly into your pineal gland. Woe to those who miss this.
But, wait, there’s more: Mr. Edd Scheer, leader of the Love Dogs, will be bashing the drums and singing all those crazy old songs that you know and love. Furthermore, Mr. Mike DiBari will be plucking those glitar strings. this could be one of my all-time favorite units to work with. It always takes me two days to recover! We all sing, we all play and we’re gonna laugh our asses off, to boot. You should come!

Jefferson Starship lands in Beverly next weekend @ The Larcom Theatre on Saturday, March 21st at 8pm
Beverly, MA. M.E. Productions is excited to present psychedelic rock icons Jefferson Starship at the Larcom Theatre on Saturday, March 21st at 8pm . Rising from the ashes of Jefferson Airplane, their music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism. This special show celebrates all the music of Jefferson Airplane on it’s 50TH anniversary. Tickets for Jefferson Starship start at $35.
Beginning in 1974 as a break-off of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship is arguably one of the most well-known bands to come out of that decade. Their first album Blows Against the Empire was the first ever rock music recording nominated for literary science fiction’s prestigious Hugo Award. Their music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism.
Currently the band is fronted by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, also a former Jefferson Airplane member and co-founder of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service, and newest member Cathy Richardson, anchoring (and some say channeling) the historic role made famous by Grace Slick. They continue to perform their iconic repertoire of hits spanning all eras of their existence, including “Jane,” “Somebody To Love,” “Miracles,” “White Rabbit,” “Volunteers,” “Count On Me” and many more.
“This is one of the most exciting classic rock shows touring today,” says Seth McNally of M.E. Productions. “The members haven’t lost a step, if anything they are playing with more energy than ever since the addition of the show stopping Cathy Richardson…and this show is especially exciting as they are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jefferson Airplane.”
Â
Tickets to see Jefferson Starship are $35, $45, and $55 for premier seating.  For tickets and more information visit www.larcomtheater.com or call  978-525-9093.

Music Around Town ~ March 10-15, 2015
There’s a new band in town! The Fabulous Supersonics and they are making their debut tonight @ The Dog Bar 3.7.2015
We are called the “Fabulous Supersonics” and we are:
John Fatello – guitar and vocals. John was, most recently, the host of
the popular Open Mic night at the Franco-American Club in Beverly. He
has also backed up such blues luminaries as James Cotton and others in his career.
The band features veterans of local bands Quits, the Nor’easters and Points North. And the Diva, Westward Ho of the Diva Hos. We are covering tunes from Steely Dan to the Stones. Eric Clapton to Stevie Wonder. With a dash of Iggy Pop and Tom Petty.

The Dogbar is located at 65 Main Street in Gloucester. Rear entrance is
located on Rogers St.
Dave says,
It’s Snowbank Removal Week as temperatures threaten to climb into the Forties. I loved my forties, when I was at the peak of my insanity, rather than being the recondite cretin that I am now: talking to pigeons and wiping saliva off my chin. But enough about me: what about that finger in your eye music happening on Thursday? And that guy who had a seizure whilst skydiving? What’s the big deal? Happens to me all the time….
So, this Thursday let’s have a ball with a sorta new guy: Mr. Tim Gartland. He’s been here before. He’s really talented and deserves your rabid attention. Tim hails from Cleveland, where he was arrested for arson after setting the Cuyahoga river on fire. Now he’s gonna torch your cerebellum with his swingfoot style of harp and vogelsang. He’s got a really cool voice, sort of a cross between Arthur Prysock and Arthur Prysock. With hints of mint courtesy of Metamucil Pete, my street connection.
Backing him up will be that plisky, spoon-bending master of glitar, Mr. Jon Ross. Trader Joe’s secret weapon. Jon is one of my favorite musicians. Fluent on Guitar, bass and drums. drives a cool ’92 Buick Wagon, too. What’s not to like? Drums beaten by Mr. Jeff Casper, the friendly drummer. I’m on bass, trying once again to steal second. C’mon down and have a good time. It’ll be warm! You might even find a parking spot!
And, don’t forget: Next Monday The Old Saltys will be controlling the universe from our secret base hidden at the Rose Baker Senior Center in downtown Gloucester. From 1 to 3, we will be controlling transmission. You ought to see these guys before it’s too late and your prune juice stock tanks on NASDAC. I really mean it: it’s the best show in town. You’ll see….
