Gloucester Smiles with Man’s Best Friend
Pet of the Week- Emily
This might be a family looking to adopt me! My name is Emily, I am a four-month-old female Retriever mix. I will be large when I am fully grown. I love dogs, people, toys and splashing in the kiddie pools here at the Cape Ann Animal Aid (CAAA), located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Lane in Gloucester. I love to cuddle and then going outdoors to play.
I am a bit shy with new people, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up and then I can show my affectionate ad playful side. I hope you might visit the shelter soon and our website at CapeAnnAnimalAid.org
If you are up to the challenge a new pup can bring – and the fun, too, stop by the CAAA soon and ask for Emily!
Pet of the Week – Lady

Hello, my name is Lady and I am a two-month-old Husky/Dalmatian pup. I am residing at the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Lane in Gloucester. I am here with my siblings and we are sweet pups who will be medium to large when we are fully grown. I love to investigate and the shelter provides that for me with all the toys and outside trails. I love being here, the volunteers and staff are wonderful to me, but I can’t wait to find a forever home. Every time the door opens, I think it might be my new owner! Please visit: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com to see more photos of my siblings and I and I think you will agree, I am the cutest!
Happy New Year!
Pet of the Week- Beto!
Hello, my name is Beto, a four-month-old fawn-and-black Retriever curly coated Shepherd mix, but I am 100% adorable!
I weigh about 16 pounds, and will be medium size when I am fully grown. I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, Four Paws Road, Gloucester.
Please save June 8 at 3 p.m. at Stage Fort Park for the Rescue Reunion! This will be a free, family-friendly event to celebrate the adoption of your dog(s) and provide a space to reunite with the staff and volunteers at the CAAA. Whether your dog was rescued locally in MA, Puerto Rico, Georgia, Alabama or another southern state, you will be able to find out more about your pup’s background, rescue situation and/or meet litter-mates! Please visit: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com
If you are up to the challenge that an active pup like me can bring, I am up to challenge of showing you all the fun we can have together!

As you can see, I love having fun and I think the next thing I want to try is to skateboarding!
Loyalty!
This classic photo comes courtesy of Jean Dugan, one of the parishioners at Holy Family Parish. I’d love to do a series of photos of each boulder with a person or object that typifies the word, like she has done here with “loyalty”! What could be better than a loyal dog in Dogtown on the “Loyalty” boulder?
Pet of the Week-Sporty Spice
Hello! My name is Sporty Spice and I am a happy and playful three-month-old female pup who is Chihuahua Shiba Inu with a beautiful cream-and-white coat. I will be small to medium size when I am fully grown. I can’t wait to meet my new family! If you would like to meet me, I amat the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter in Gloucester. Check our website at: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com I am spending a lot of time with other pups, visitors and volunteers and I get along well with everyone. Someone asked me if I am part rabbit because of my ears! I love having big ears because I can hear all the great things everyone is saying about me – one of the volunteers just said I am a sweet pup and then she picks me up and gives me a hug, brushes me, takes me for a walk, feeds me and I get another hug before she leaves – this is the life!
Pet of the Week-Rudy!
Hi! My name is Rudy, I am a two-month-old Terrier mix boy pup. I love to play and have fun! My siblings and I are at the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, located at Four Paws Lane in Gloucester.
I love it here. The staff and volunteers are so friendly and kind and they play with me! You might want to visit CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and see other photos of me! I will be medium size when all grown. I have a handsome brown and reddish coat.
My brother is a little smaller, not much; just a little – maybe this is because I am three minutes older!!
I don’t think Rudy will stay at the shelter very long! What a handsome pup.

Odds this guy gets laid within 30 minutes of shooting this video have to be what, like 1000%?
This guy is diabolical.
The old get your girlfriend a puppy the day she puts her old dog down from a heart tumor trick. Gets ‘em a hundred times out of a hundred. Well played sir. Well played.
Moral of the story?
Go down to Cape Ann Animal Aid and get you one of those cute cats or dogs, bring it home, surprise your girlfriend, get laid.
#Boom!
It’s just that easy.
PS: Shouldn’t I get a be getting Nobel or Pulitzer for this kind of stuff?
PPS: If I don’t get a Nobel or Pulitzer there shouldn’t there be a bevy of advertising firms straight up fighting to sign me at this point? I dare say there’s never been a more effective ad for Cape Ann Animal Aid in the history of Cape Ann Animal Aid.
PPPS: If the grandfather wasn’t sitting right there I would have said 5 minutes propped up on the dryer.
Just makin’ it rain cats and dogs up in this mother.
Home needed for Mr. Z
Cheryl writes in…
“I made a fabulous connection for Bella…a better home than I could provide…still looking for a home for Z…if possible could you repost his bio…I would love to think they could be in the same area and maybe be able to run together once in a while…
Again Thank You for your help,
Love and Light,
Cheryl”
Let’s find Mr. Z a new home! I’m sure he would love to be someone’s valentine.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
~Alicia
UPDATE: Mr. Z found a good home and he’s near his old friend, Bella!
“The homes are so perfect for each dog and get this…they are going to be just about across the street from each other…REALLY how sweet is that. They can still have a romp on the beach and a visit now and then.
Bella is going to a gentleman that is retired and will give her all the love and attention she needs. And honors her age.
Z has gone to a home with a young black lab and a gentleman that lives for his dogs….and the funny thing….Z seemed to be the calmest of the 3…I never thought I’d see the day…lol He is the good ole boy of the house.”
