Dawn from La Provence Adopts A New Family Member Because Of GMG

Joey,
Our newest family member Koji with his big sister Abbie!  We went to "look" at the puppies because we’re always seeing the cutest animals posted on GMG but we fell in love with Koji and had to take him home.
thanks!

Aidan – Pet of the Week and Black Friday Special At Cape Ann Animal Aid

Aidan

Hello, my name is Aidan, I am a 3-1/2 month old retriever mix with a handsome golden coat.

I am loveable, cuddly and affectionate.  If you would like to meet me, I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main Street in Gloucester.

Did you hear that from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. dogs may have their photo taken with Santa?!

On Sat., Dec. 3 at Hometown Ace Hardware, 231 Gloucester Crossing, Gloucester and Sun., Dec. 4 at Smith’s Ace Hardware & Lumber, 3 Station Sq., Rockport.   My dream is to go to this with my new family!!!

Black Friday Special for the weekend, all adult cats and adult dogs (one year and older) at 20% off their normal adoption fees!

Cinder–Cape Ann Animal Aid Pet of the Week

Cinder – Pet of the Week

Cinder

I am Cinder, a five-month-old sweet, sassy and very affectionate girl pup.  I am at the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 260 Main Street in Gloucester where the wonderful volunteers and staff are taking good care of me.  I can’t wait to be adopted and be part of a family.  As you can see, I have a beautiful black coat and personality to match!   I will be a large dog when I am grown.  I think I might do best with children ten or older; I love them, but I wouldn’t want to accidentally sit on one.

With all the holidays coming up, I want to have a family to enjoy these with.  I know some people just don’t want a big dog and they prefer those little dogs that can fit into their pocket or purse – but I will fit better in your heart!

Cape Ann Animal Aid Pet of The Week- Lolita

Lolita – Pet of the Week

Lolita

I am Lolita a ten-month-old pup who is Chihuahua mix residing at the Cape Ann Animal Aid until I am adopted.  I don’t appreciate the remarks by the dog next to me about my ears.   Do you trip over your ears? Are those antennas? I just looked at him politely and said, at least I am housebroken!

I am a great dog and hope that my new family comes to adopt me soon.  If you are looking for a great dog,  I am all ears!  The Blessing of the Animals will be held on Sun., Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Harvey Park (new location) in Rockport in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.   The Rev. Karin E. Wade, rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, invites all Cape Ann pets to this ecumenical service.   Animals should be on a lead, or in a carrier.

Maybe I will be adopted in time to attend the Blessing!

What’s up for Dog Day?

From the Beacon
Gloucester —

The question

Dog lovers of all ages will descend up on Stage Fort Park in Gloucester on Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for Cape Ann Animal Aid’s Dog Day. The event draws an estimated 300 people annually – not to mention a great deal of canine companions – and has grown in popularity since its inception in 2003. What is Cape Ann Animal Aid’s Dog Day?

The answer

“It was started as an event for families to do with their dogs, as well as a fundraiser for the shelter,” explains Nancy Tarbox, PR Coordinator for Cape Ann Animal Aid. “This is a fun event that brings dog owners together with each other, and it also gives families a chance to do things together with their dogs without spending a lot of money.” Both families and dogs are invited to participate in a variety of activities, including an expo featuring various vendors and community groups, agility courses, contests and games for dogs, dog nail-trimming, low-cost micro-chipping for dogs, demonstrations, activities for kids like bouncy houses, raffles, prizes, food and drinks. There is a $10 participation fee for all dog activities, and the first 100 participants get a free T-shirt commemorating the event. “This is a great chance for adults, dogs and children to do something together,” says Tarbox. “The agility course helps children to bond with their dogs, as well as adults. The event brings pet-owners together, which helps them to learn from each other. People get a chance to see pet businesses and learn how they can make their relationship with their pets less stressful and more fun. This is a good chance for many pet businesses to show people what they have to offer. This is also an inexpensive event for the whole family.”

Sarg – Pet of the week

Sarg

My name is Sarg and I am a  two-month-old boy pup who is a Keeshound mix with a black-and-tan coat. The nice staff here said I am as cute as a button.  I think this is a compliment.  My siblings and I are at the Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester waiting to be adopted.  I don’t know what the word siblings means, but I think it means brothers and sisters!  But I have all brothers.

We are happy pups who are active and cute.  There is so much going on down here at the shelter – talk about upcoming events – the new shelter opening this year – people purchasing bricks at the new shelter and so much more – visit: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and you will see what I mean.

Remember to stop on down and meet my siblings and me… (remember…that means my brothers)!

Patience- Cape Ann Animal Aid pet of The Week

The volunteers and staff here are so kind to me.  This is a non-profit shelter and although I have no idea what that means, I do know when people come in with items such as gas cards for the shelter van, everyone is so happy and grateful.   I know they also like receiving toys for the shelter cats and dogs and postage stamps for their mailings.

Please stop by to see if I will fit into your life, heart and home.  I know one – thing, I probably can fit into your pocket, too!

I almost forgot to tell you that I did adopt a cat from Cape Ann Animal Aid in May (not
Squeaky as she was gone when I went to check), I named her Maisy, she is the sweetest thing, still a bit shy, but loves to sit on the windowsills and watch the boats and seagulls go by, here is a pic:
