Boston Massacre vs Maine Port Authority
The crowd is fired up as the teams are announced.
Using our press passes, Erik Lorden the owner/chef extrodinaire of Passports and I try to work out a bribe with Disco Inferno, one of the refs at the Boston Massacre/Maine Port Authority Roller Derby Bout.
Disco wasn’t biting and as it turned out the bribe was unneccesary as the Boston Massacre led by Rockport’s Krush Puppy routed Maine from start to finish.

Shelby Shattered sports some serious ink on her right arm. Shelby really seemed to set the pace during the bout. From my limited experience as a fan of the sport it looked like the Boston Massacre had a mental edge in knowing how to set the pace. It isn’t all about flying around the track as fast as you can.
I forgot to ask Shelby where she had her tattoo done. The cloroing was strong.

Shelby Shattered and Krush Puppy spend some quality time diiscussing the finer points of maiming and punishing while taking a break in the penalty box for an infraction during The Boston Massaccre/Maine Port Authority Bout. Both of these hard core derby competitors hail from The North Shore. Represent!

Flo talks Roller Derby before the Boston Massacre vs Maine Port Authority Bout. We also speak with Disco Inferno, a Derby Dame Referee.
Cape Ann represented well with two of the top roller derby skaters in Krush Puppy and Shelby Shattered having roots in Rockport and Ipswich respectively.
I printed up my press pass before the bout with help from pal Sharon Lowe and her killer printer.
As it turned out I didn’t need it as they issued me an official one from The Boston Derby Dames offices. Buddy Erik Lorden and I had all access on the floor of the event and we got a ton of interviews during warm up and throughout the bout.
