A Lucky Find From Ann Kennedy

Came upon this while rummaging around in a flea market in the boondocks!  Note postmark encouraging visitors to the 300th anniversary celebration of your town! One of your recent posts included another postcard view of the hotel I believe.  Thought you might enjoy this one.
Happy Easter!

Cape Ann Cuisine From Ann Kennedy

Ann Writes-

Hi Joey.  In case you have a slow news day–unlikely, I realize.  Here are a week’s worth of reasons to get back to Cape Ann asap.  While Kansas City is a fabulous restaurant town, there are some things that must be eaten only on Cape Ann!  I know you’ll recognize the food from your terrific local eateries.

How many of the dishes can you recognize where they were served?

Come On Summer! From Ann Kennedy

Ann Writes-

I know it’s time for summer when I stare longingly at last year’s photos!   Can hardly wait!  As usual, we’re loving the great coverage of all things Gloucester and have started the count-down to return!

Ann Kennedy Finds A Bit Of Gloucester MA In MO

Ann writes-

Hi Joey.  Yesterday I was wandering through a local (Liberty, MO) flea market and from across the room a dusty old postcard caught my eye.  I could hardly believe it when I picked it up and read the caption, "Surf at Eastern Point, Gloucester, Mass."!   I especially love the sentiment written on the back:  "The ocean is wonderful.  I never tire of looking at it."  I couldn’t agree more.
Happy New Year to you and all GMGers!  I look forward to more great coverage of all things Gloucester in 2012!

Ann Kennedy Has Some Nice Things To Say

Ann Kennedy Writes-

It just keeps getting better…

Hey Joey, I just finished my daily happy hour/blogread, and started to add comments, but realized if I had the time, it would be easy to say something about every post!  I’ve got to say, the coverage of the community’s holiday activities and events, the merchant features and their videos, the restaurant posts and menus, Felicia’s videos, the stellar photography, the great poetry, the informative pieces, and especially the commentary and banter among your own team creates a real gift!  It just seems to be getting better all the time…and I’m just getting more anxious for our next trip out there!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you, enjoy the party Sat. night, take lots of pictures, and be sure you all get home in one piece!  I have a feeling that event is going to be one very fun time!

I’m thinking about boats today.  Somehow they seem to bring hope and promise to those who love to be in, on or near them!

Ann Kennedy Is Sharing The GMG love…

Ann writes-

How about starting a support group for those of us whose vacations are over-ha!  Could be called GMG ( "Grieving, Missing Gloucester")! There is still so much great stuff going on in town–love reading about it all!

Ann Kennedy Writes-

I really am leaving town…but for those who love all of Cape Ann, here’s a look at Rockport.

Good Night Gloucester from Ann Kennedy

On leaving Gloucester…

GMG is the daily dose of pleasure, news, sights and sounds that make Gloucester come alive for us all. It continues to remind us that true community is created through thoughtful engagement of time, energy, and care for one another, on-line and off. GMG informs and shares, and it opens a welcoming door for visitors and residents alike.

October is passing far too quickly for me, and now it’s time to return home to Missouri. I am not ready to leave. Thank you, Gloucester and all of Cape Ann, for what and who you are. Thank you for your infinite natural and industrial beauty, your citizenry, your hard work and kindness to those of us who visit.  Thank you blog contributors for the incredible content!  May the fish be plentiful, the art and music flow freely, the winter calm and hard work always rewarded!

Peace,

Ann
