My View of Life on the Dock

Last night I put rolled oats, chia seeds, strawberries, sliced almonds, raspberries and oat milk in a jar.

I’ll report back on the taste.
Here’s a good article about he benefits of Overnight Oats From Bob’s Red Mill
Update:

OK so I just tried the first batch.
It was OK. Felt good eating it but a little lacking in flavor and sweetness. I may add a little honey drizzle next time.
I do feel satisfied though and ready to tackle the day and Pickleball. 😄
Caught this crew mid take off from the marsh the other day.

The recent grey damp days were starting to get me down so I went out looking for some inspiration. Despite the dreariness, there are still many bright spots to find out there if you seek them. I discovered that once you start looking, they are pretty easy to find AND make the day seem decidedly less grey.

Chef Aaron Budak invited us to a preview tasting and……..WOW!
May be the best coffee I’ve ever tasted.
Prices verrrrrry reasonable.
Smoked Haddock chowder could be award winning.
Roasted pork sandwich with tomato jam was a flavor explosion.
Trust me When I Tell You This Place Is Gonna Be Rocking !

Happy Humpback Cafe to open soon at 2 Lexington Ave Magnolia.
I’ll update you with the firm opening date when Chef Adam gives me the green light
Thanks for the invite chef!

I gotta save that quote for future use!

Flood tide…

An adult Herring Gull at the Jodrey State Fish Pier late in the afternoon. Unfortunately there was no light at that time because it had become dull.
The Herring Gull’s webbed foot on the left side has been lifeless, but this bird is alive and kicking.

I can’t lie…. it took me a few seconds longer than I am proud of to figure this out. It is now obvious that those balloons spell out “2022” but I saw S.O.S first.

Some inspiration to start your week from Mark Twain, Scottie Mac and Joey C. Probably not the combo you were expecting, but from Mark Twain: “Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.” Thank you Joey and Scottie for the reminder.

I didn’t remember the liquor store but I do remember the Hallmark store in between CVS and Papa Gino’s. Great times riding our bikes to Papa Gino’s for pizza and pizza pumping quarters in the individual juke boxes at the tables. Back when parents let their kids ride bikes all over town. When they were young. To football, baseball practice. Everywhere.
