On the Boulevard about 1.5 after high tide. there was some splash over. The temperature was 50 degrees, but the wind let me know that it is winter.
We’ll be serving a special NYE dinner menu at 7:30pm, and for those buying out our bays, bottle service will be provided!
�General admission is free starting at 9pm for those looking to dance and party in style, space is limited.

I typically stop by Googans Galley in downtown Essex about once per week on the way to work or while out and about over the weekend. If you haven’t been, or haven’t been in a while, make a point to stop by. It is super festive in there right now! As always, their gift selection is to die for and they also just put out their holiday cookie assortment and have delicious winter beverages.
The sound of laughter as these children ran up the Boulevard through the crashing waves made it worth getting wet to film it.

Before Gloucester rose to fame as a world-renowned fishing port in the 1800s, the Inner Harbor was already a bustling center of overseas trade. But this transformation didn’t happen overnight. In the 1600s, Riverdale and Annisquam were the centers of activity, while the Harbor remained a quiet, lightly settled corner of town. So how — and why — did the Harbor evolve into Gloucester’s commercial heart?
Join the Sawyer Free Library for an illustrated talk with author and historian Robert Booth, who will explore the people, businesses, and turning points that sparked the Harbor’s development between 1690 and 1715. Booth will also discuss the methods and historical clues that help us understand this pivotal era.
This presentation draws from research for Booth’s upcoming book. A respected local historian educated at Harvard and Boston University, Booth is curator emeritus of the Pickering House in Salem, former director/curator of the Manchester-by-the-Sea Museum, and a consultant on historic restoration and interpretation. Chuck and Frankie Ciolino were early on big time supporters and friends of GMG and they produced the iconic stickers that Beth Swan designed. Chuck found his soulmate with Julie and were virtually inseparable. always upbeat, always with a huge smile on their faces. They could be regularly seen out and about at the regular local spots and it was always a positive experience whenever you interacted with them.

Do you enjoy coffee?
Led by coffee cupping guru Rob Fitzgibbon, this program is like a wine tasting, but with coffee. We will begin with an informal half hour presentation, covering coffee as an agricultural commodity, how it’s grown and processed, how it’s been consumed throughout history, and an introduction to concepts such as roasting, aroma, taste and mouthfeel.
We then do a fun interactive exercise in which participants try three different coffees and document what they smell and taste using stickers and a flavor wheel.
We end by reviewing our shared perceptions of taste and aroma, have Q & A session and finish the coffee. The purpose is to to pay attention to coffee – to gain more appreciation for the complexity and wonder of a drink that we typically take for granted in our day to day life.

The Lobster’s Sticky Rib Salad was pretty excellent. Ribs aren’t necessarily something I would normally order out, but I’m so glad I tried this. It was delicious.
