The outdoor bar on Lobsta Land’s deck is a fantastic place to sit for a while. With its impressive retractable roof it is perfect in any weather. The food is always phenomenal and the schedule of live music and the view over the marsh makes it the ideal spot to spend an afternoon or evening.

I recently downloaded the Merlin app from Cornell to assist with bird identification. The most useful attribute so far is the ability to record live birdsong and have it be identified. I admit to being kind of addicted. You see an example of a report here and the accompanying recording. We found our eagle pair recently along the river but I did not have my camera with me that day so I pulled out the phone to record when they started calling. So here are some other recent photos of that eagle pair along the river and a recording in case you love eagle calls as much as I do. (the audio file is at the bottom though the picture of the report looks like where you want to go)

| Besides the main roles, there are smaller roles available, as well as “Fishermen’s Wives Chorus,” “Fishermen’s Chorus,” and “Children’s Chorus” opportunities. When Clayton Stockbridge finished writing the original play in 1953, he included his own descriptions of the all the roles, like “Captain Nate,” “Liz Brewer,” and “Frenchie Boudreau.” Read the Character Descriptions There are many opportunities to participate in this historical community event. Like Gloucester, the show is full of characters. You just might fit the part! |

| It is a dramatic story of the doomed fishing vessel, Artemesia, and the conflict between the desire of a life at sea and the business of fishing. It involves a schooner vessel, a business owner, and his son who wishes to crew on the vessel in order to have the life experience at sea and not be confined to a business life on shore. The son has resistance from his parents and fiancé in his quest to go to sea, and as a result becomes a part of the tragedy which strikes. |
