On Sunday’s podcast, we briefly talked about the shrieking of the gulls on Main St. I believe Joey mentioned he hadn’t noticed that too much from our vantage in the West End. That’s all that needed to be said before the gulls began to party.

Winter Routine — pat morss

Things are slow as we all settle into the winter routine.

Stripes of reeds, gulls, ice, and open water at Niles Pond.
Only one day of adequate ice for skating so far.
A USCG cutter tows F/V Orion, with a dead engine, home into Gloucester at dusk.
Color at dessert time on the suet sideboard. Here are the RED, …
… the WHITE, and the BLUE.
This Red-tailed Hawk is such a regular, I think we should name him or her ‘Randy.’
“Randy Red-tail. I love it. I’m so proud.”
Deer foraging for a late dinner, next door on the frozen ground.
“I’m the leader of the pack” – the first coyote is already down the path and on the rocks.
“I’m the defensive one” – the second coyote sees me, when at the top of the path.
“I’m the red one” – the third coyote just follows the others, often trotting to catch up.
“I’m the timid one” – the fourth coyote retreats back up the driveway to find a safer route.
Winter days often end with a unique sunset, here featuring the Boston skyline.

PSA: For the record I don’t hate on Taylor Swift…

I do love the memories I have as a Patriots fan and the dominance that we shared as a fan base for so long.

The Chiefs have a long way to go to top that but they’re definitely on the road to that.

As a holder of the great memories tied to having the greatest football dynasty of all time I’d like to retain that as a fan and reserve the right to root against any team that is on the way to potentially long long long time away from now, threatening that.

Also, mentioning that they may be on the way to that kind of achievement doesn’t mean they’ve already got there. The Chiefs have a loooong way to go.

That all being said, they are definitely special in the way we were for all those years.

Lunch at Grillfriends

On Sunday before the big games, Rick and I went to Grillfriends for lunch.  Lucky to have a great restaurant that we can have a great lunch.

Rick had the Mindy chicken sandwich and I had hot and cold veggie rollup.  So good and also served with Fresh Friend chips.
