Apparently it was one year ago that I posted about how pretty it was at Tuck’s Point that day (click here for post). We recently went down to check out how the recent high tides had been affecting that area and this is what we found. Mother Nature at work.

We recently attended the first annual Rocky Neck Winter Fest, and the opening of Our Time on Earth at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem.
Rocky Neck, and Smith Cove which it protects, are in winter mode.Adventure remains at the Marine Railways, now sporting her new propeller and rudder. No, she doesn’t have a new wheelhouse. That’s the tug Meridian, beyond. As part of Winter Fest, multiple artists were sketching portraits at The Cultural Center.Headquarters appears to be at The Salted Cod – if you can find and open the door.It houses an excellent selection of local art, crafts and jewelry, and is open all winter. With an ideal pairing of light food and drinks (sample the flatbreads and wines).Outside, the flooding high tide reminds us of the impact of climate change. That takes us to the opening of a current traveling exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum. Our Time on Earth, curated by the Barbican in London, explores our sustainability. This visitor is mesmerized by a cosmic video.

2/21/24 marks 2 years since our Cam passed away. He is still sorely missed every day. He will always be the best of us, remembered for how much he loved & was loved. Cam was a true gift from God in my life & in our family’s life. We lost a part of us when he passed away.

Seaport Grille with the win for a Monday evening meal in February. You may be aware several of our area restaurants are closed for the season or for brief winter breaks. Therefore it can be a little tricky to find someplace open especially on a Monday in February. We landed at the Seaport Grille on Rogers St recently and we were very glad we did. As always, the service was friendly and accommodating to my request to go “off the menu” just a little. Jim had the shrimp platter and I had the filet (done to perfection). We were so full we needed to take the key lime pie as take out for dessert. That key lime deliciousness gave us at least 2 lovely desserts at home. I just love the Seaport coffee to top off my meal when we go there. It was a lovely way to have a Monday evening meal! **I suspect you may see a similar post upcoming from Joey, so you know if Seaport Grille pleases a foodie such as himself and an ordinary palate such as mine, you’re good to go.
