Hydrofoil

I saw this guy zipping around the Annisquam River on his Hydrofoil board the other day. He made it look fairly easy although I’m certain there must be quite the learning curve to remain so steady. Hydrofoils deflect the flow of water downwards…which then exerts a force upwards on the board. Once it picks up speed the board then lifts out of the water. Fun to watch….no doubt fun to ride as well.

Plum Island Lighthouse

The Friends of Plum Island Lighthouse offered tours of the small lighthouse on Northern Boulevard in Newburyport a few days ago. What a great opportunity to get inside the well-kept lighthouse and interact with the volunteers. They offer occasional tours and host a limited number of events. The scheduled tour time was only 15 minutes which was both adequate and worth the ride up there. Perhaps you’ve seen this lighthouse and wondered about it……..for more info click here.
