October 26th 11-1 (Rain Date October 27th 11-1)

Location: 9 Whistlestop Mall, Rockport MA 01966

Welcome to our Pet Meet and Greet Adoption Day! Join us for a heartwarming experience where adorable pets are looking for loving companions to bring joy and companionship into their lives. Cape Ann Animal Aid offers a life-changing adoption of new fur baby companions that have the power to transform not only the life of a pet but also the lives of their new families. This event is a wonderful opportunity to meet your future furry friend, meet the volunteers of a wonderful local animal shelter, learn about the process of adoption and make a difference by providing a forever home. We invite you to be part of this special day and witness the magic of pet adoption. Don’t miss out on the chance to create a lasting bond with a loyal companion. Come and be a part of something truly meaningful!

Apothecary Suil Crow will be accepting donations until the day of this event that will take place outside their shop location at 9 Whistlestop Mall under grand tents. During this day Suil Crows gifted psychics will be offering readings where half of the money raised will be going to Cape Ann Animal Aid!

“We are animal lovers and advocates and consider it a great honor to be able to host an event with this beautiful non profit organization”, says Rebeccah owner of Suil Crow. “Animals are an important and cherished gift to families and deserve a home where they get lots of love and can give their love in return.”

“We are so excited to partner with Apothecary Suil Crow for a fun and rewarding afternoon to benefit homeless animals! Having the support of our local community is a huge benefit to the animals, and the animals always enjoy any opportunity to get out and meet new people – and potentially their new families!”

art is art, process is process…it’s about communicating with the world

Willie Loco Alexander

“Growing up I was encouraged to make art and music. I remember my mom–she played violin in the Cape Ann Symphony–showing me how to cross hatch to give my drawings more depth.

“My Grandpa Doggett sent us the Currier and Ives calendar every Christmas and I remember enjoying the illustrations. We had Van Gogh and Grandma Moses on the wall. In 5th grade I won the “Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up” poster competition with my drawing of a Native American. Miss Wentworth, my classroom teacher, told me that she wouldn’t have picked mine.

“Moments in life have significance.

“It was a the Museum School and then Goddard College that I started playing rock n’ roll with my first band, The Lost, in 1964.

“Through my entire musical career, I have never stopped making visual art. In the sixties and seventies, I filled my “Holy Babbles” with scribbles, pinups and drawings.

“Making art is something I’ve always done–like brushing my teeth, tying my shoes, walking in the woods.”

Annoucement:

Egrets Gather At Lower Banjo Pond

Several egrets were gathered at Lower Banjo Pond recently. I suppose they may have been migrating. They looked pretty regal sitting there. The mallards swam by peacefully but the egrets seemed to think the ducks got too close to the shore for their liking and shook them off.
